From the song:  "They shut down the toll booths of glory 'cause we didn't endorse Christie." "Man, I've really gotta take a leak, but I can't. I'm stuck in Governor Chris Christie's Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam."

Ouch.

I have a bad feeling that the next time that Springsteen comes to The Meadowlands, there's gonna be traffic studies on the GSP, the turnpike, route 3, route 17, 80, 46, and Paterson Planck Road.

If that happens, cities will burn and heads will roll, you do NOT fark with New Jerseyites' ability to see The Boss. Last time someone tried, Ticketmaster faced a class action lawsuit and an anti-trust investigation.

This more than anything else will hurt Christie.  Christie could deal with investigations.  He could deal with getting jail time.  But having The Boss make fun of him, there's no recovering from that.

Even my wife who is a diehard republican who loves Christie now hates him because he f'd with traffic. You can snort coke off a hooker's ass while singing the praises of coal fired everything while getting bribed by every billionaire on Earth, but mess traffic and even the most hardened R will flip to a democrat because.. ZOMG THE TRAFFIC THAT FAT ASS CAUSED!!

And then the engineering firm that usually does traffic studies will say "Hey, we use computer software to model traffic. If we need to count cars, we use humans or a camera system. Like the camera system we already have mounted onto the GWB. We never close lanes like that."

I don't know.  I usually bristle when entertainers start to get into politics.  But the paradoy with Bruce and Fallon is funny (and I'm a conservative).  This just make people laugh a  bit and get over it.

This is not going to make people get over it. It extends the pain for Christie. The biggest rock star in NJ just sang a song blaming the whole thing on him.

Yeah I recall the Daily show clip where Christie was a guest.  He was giddy as a school girl because he got to meet The Boss.  Now The Boss makes fun of him!  That is gonna hurt.

Shiat, a few years ago we had a guy climb up on a bridge and threaten to kill himself. Locked traffic up for miles. Folks were urging him to do it and get it over with so that they could get home. I don't give a shiat what you do, you will NEVER be cool if you're responsible for traffic.

My last car got totalled when some asshole decided to turn at a red light when he couldn't see on-coming traffic. As I stood on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck an old man slowly drove by in the traffic that resulted form the accident. He gave me a little toot of his horn so that he knew I heard him and says, "FARK YOU, ASSHOLE. GOOD JOB.'

Lol. I was thinking, "Jesus, Pops. I was just in a horrible accident." He didn't give a shiat. I was the reason he was late to work and he had to let me know it.

That said, there are some Springsteen songs I really like, and ANYONE who can make fun of him(her)self gets extra points in my book. This was definitely funny stuff...

Before today, once we hit a lifetime limit we woulda been dropped from our insurance
But now if your under 26, your parents' insurance takes credence
Sprung from the need to maintain employment
For insurance, we can become fuel-injected entrepreneurs

Oh-Oh!

Baby they say Obamacare rips your bones from your back
That it's a death trap, a suicide rap
We'll that what you'll hear on Fox News
'Cause people like us, Baby should die quickly when we get sick!

Why do you crack up,? Do  you believe  you have to agree 100% percent with someone politics to enjoy thier music?  Of the hundreds of songs he's written there's a handful that really go to party politics, but so what? Do you only have friends who agree with you politically?

That's what cracks me up... In most cases, it's not even subtle. But they hear "Born in the USA" and go into "America! Fark yeah!" mode.

Never mind the whole not respecting intellectual property rights that usually goes along with a Republican using one of these songs.

Nope. I'm pretty much equal opposer when actors/singers/celebrities want to use thier stage to spout thier own politcal views. No problem if they are doing it at a political event, but when they do it at a show,...groan.

Yeah - if you are hankering for a great classic conservative rock song you have to look no further than Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who......"Meet the new boss - Same as the old boss"

another classic would be: "If you drive a car, I'll tax the street - If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat - If you get too cold, I'll tax the heat - If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet"
