That looks like a pro bowl jersey.  The throwback uniforms are red, but they don't have a Flying Elvis on the sleeves.

Even though I am not a Pats fan, and I will have to listen to my brother and his ex-wife squawk about how awesome Brady and the Pats are, it will be worth it to see the Denver fans twitch and whine about the refs, Brady, and whatever else they come up with to excuse away the loss. Oh, and the Manning Face. Can't forget the Manning Face.

I don't care if this is just a photo of Brady joking around with teammates at a practice, or if I make faces like this 20 times a day. He still looks stupid.

I'm a Bronco fan and don't hate the guy. Hell, he's living the life pretty much every dude on the planet would live if given the choice.

Rings, supermodel wife, endorsements...I'm shocked he doesn't have rotator-cuff problems from high-fiving too much.

/I don't envy his really quiet and awkward team plane ride back to Boston on Sunday, though.

Can they field the defense that played last weekend? Those guys were pretty good, unlike the other defense I've seen playing in Denver over the previous few months.

Gronkless New England is toothless New England.  The current line (Denver -5.5) is about right.

Which is big, sure, but overall with DT, Julius, Welker and Decker, Manning has more tools in the toy box than Brady. No one really fears NE's outside receivers so I submit with the Broncos at home the smart money is on the favorite. Granted, Blount is admittedly a beast as of late but then so was the Chargers' running game.

Maybe they'll win, sure. They are favored, even if it is just by 4 points.
But didn't New England beat them earlier in the season with a come-from-behind victory and 31 points to Denver's 7 in the second half? And that was when Denver had Von Miller, who had a pretty good game against them. Of course NE had Gronk who is now injured as well, so who knows.

I was gonna say, if someone can walk past your desk and get offended about seeing the word on your screen:

1. Maybe work isn't a great place to mess around on the computer during office hours, and
2. They'll prolly be just as upset that you're just not doing any work.

That aside, if the Pats somehow win, this may be the first Superbowl i don't watch in years. I can't take seeing them win another one.

I think the consensus for this week is that neither team will fumble the ball away as much as they did the last game, and Denver's O won't be so run-heavy this time around.  Weather permitting (supposed to be 50+ degrees, 0% chance of rain!), I assume Manning will throw 35-40 times no matter what, and Brady will do the same unless they have a 2 touchdown lead.  And that scares me; if penalties and turnovers are all the same, the Pats 3rd down and playcalling lapses going into 3rd down have been killing me all year.  It doesn't usually kill them because other teams have given back over the course of 60 minutes.  Denver's offense probably won't.

Except for 2007, Manning has always had more tools in the box than Brady.  So why have his teams lost to Brady's team so often?

If no one fears NE's outside receivers, why would 14 AFC teams gladly trade places with the Pats this weekend?

Not that I'm saying it's an easy win for the Pats, but if you're gonna use a word like "toothless" you gotta bring more to back that up.  They've been Gronkless for most of the season.  Making the play-offs/winning the division was no great feat (considering the division), but they did get the bye-week and make it to the conference championship.

So why is this Sunday different from any of the other games they played with the same receivers and the same injuries?

I understand where you're both coming from and agree to an extent, but:

1. Text based content can be resized so someone needs to be sitting directly in front of the monitor to read it
2. Fark threads and its content can be crass, hurtful, mean, but it's still relatively clean
3. Most Fark threads based around Audio/Video content with foul language or questionable content are labelled NSFW.

And my work doesn't care if I surf around, as long as my work production is behind.

#1 on my Sports Hatred list. The Wings are a not-close 2nd.

And while they might not have WON a SB in a decade, they've been in the playoffs every year since '01 except for the Brady injury year and that wacky 3-way 11-5 AFC tie a few years back. Combine the overexposure ESPN brings them along with an increasingly-insufferable Boston fanbase, and the fact that their division isn't exactly "rough" anymore (and it only was for a few years anyway) leading to almost certain titles every year, just combines into a vortex of fiery disgust.

I agree. I don't see what all the Brady hate is about. Look, I hated him too, but if you watch "The Brady 6", and see him cry like a little ho, and that doesn't move you, you have no soul. The guy cares, and it still bothers him how low he was picked. You have to respect that--all that money, success, adoration, super model wife, gorgeous kids etc.....it still pisses him off. Add that to the fact that he isn't the typical stud QB, in that he is slow, has no real arm, not well-built etc., and yet is still in the top 3 QBs ever, makes me respect him a lot. There is no reason to hate on him, other than the fact that he practically plays for a Boston-based team, which makes him nearly literally Hitler to this New Yorker.

/I also like Big Papi. Not gonna lie.

mcmnky:

Except for 2007, Manning has always had more tools in the box than Brady.  So why have his teams lost to Brady's team so often?

Who statistically has had better defenses behind them in the past, particularly in their early years? (the stat NO ONE ever mentions). Not to mention Manning having to go to New England 9 out of the 14 times they've met. Why would anyone expect Manning to have a winning record vs. Brady?

If no one fears NE's outside receivers, why would 14 AFC teams gladly trade places with the Pats this weekend?

I'm not sure how that makes the current Patriots outside WRs formidable. However, I am pretty sure most teams are happy with their crop of outside WRs compared to New England.  Well, maybe not the Jets.

To which I give them credit as I'm not anti-Patriots. Granted, they got a gift win vs. Cleveland and crapped the bed in Miami in a clinching game, but they've made up for their injury woes/talent dearth with a stellar running game as of late. But, like I said, San Diego also ran the ball great until last Sunday.

I see this Sunday's game similar to the Chargers game only with higher scoring from both teams. I lean Denver because of Mile High.

So why is this Sunday different from any of the other games they played with the same receivers and the same injuries?

Same receivers? Is Gronkowski coming back?

When I was a really young kid, I used to wish I was filthy rich. Then a few years later on the playground, I used to dream about becoming a famous athlete who won championships. Once I hit puberty, I dreamed about banging super-hot women who would ogle me and think I was dreamy. God answered my prayers, but accidentally dialed Tom Brady's number. And he didn't even have the decency to play for my team.

Gronkless is harder for the Pats, but it doesn't make them one dimensional by any stretch

the pats are also really good at gameplanning defensively against Peyton, they will take away his high-percentage throws (those 5 yard routes/pick plays) and push him into the running game and playaction

i doubt the game will be won by the quarterbacks
