Who cares?

Besides the fact that all Big Two deaths are a stunt, the Johns/Didioverse is due for a reboot with all new #1 issues (GOTTA COLLECT 'EM ALL!)  pretty soon since sales are generally at or below what they were before the geniuses took a massive dump all over DC Comics.

It's only ending because that story has run its course. The character will continue under the same writer in JLA.

Alive and getting more face time than ever, although that may be in part due to all the backlash from thinking of killing him off. I have no idea why this story was greened.

I immediately thought John Stewart.  Then I thought, perhaps, Cyborg.  After that, I can't think of any.

Ah, so because the 70s/80s are over, we kill the black guy and replace him with an arab because terrorism or something.

It's a stupid decision because I actually *liked* Jon Stewart. He's one of the few DC characters that had an actual personality and didn't act like a robot. But let's be honest, in 3 months he'll be alive again (if he ever really dies) and probably be wearing the lantern ring again or repackaged as Angry Black Man 2.

In that last, most-recent crossover event thingamabob there was a point where Hal Jordan said Jon Stewart was dead, but turned out to be wrong.. maybe that was the source of the rumor.

Sorry, but Hal Jordan will always be THE Green Lantern, just like Barry Allen is THE Flash and Wally West should always be regulated to having 'Kid' in his title.

Yes I'm aware both characters were the second version of their particular hero, but the first versions were just awful and decades before I was a child.

Barry is great as a Flash Emeritus but if you can't appreciated how awesome he was as a figure for Wally getting used to being a full hero on his own, you really don't appreciate character growth.

There is no "one" Green Lantern, though they should keep giving Hal, John, Kyle, and maybe even Guy rings.

Not to mention both Jay Garrick and Alan Scott were more interesting than Hal Jordan or Barry Allen could ever be.

The weak links in the Flash* and GL lineages are Barry Allen and Hal Jordan, which is why they were both killed off when DC comics were good. It was when they returned that DC started to go to shiat. Coincidence? I think not!

/*no one counts Bart Allen as a Flash.

Is Green Lantern continuity as farked as it seems like it must be to somebody who hasn't read comics since 1997? Every time I turn around they are retooling, rebooting, rebirthing, killing, unkilling, rekilling, and retconning every damn thing. I'm surprised this NEw 52 thing is still around as well, since everybody from the avid readers to the actual writers seems to farking hate it, apart from DiDio and Jim Lee.

Geoff Johns just wrapped his 9-year run as the architect of the whole Green Lantern line. All the Lantern titles are now in the hands of younger, up-and-coming writers, so it's actually a pretty good time to get back into them.

Some of the New52 is good. The Bat family of books are generally all good because they didn't fark the continuity that much. Everything that happened before still happened they just made everyone younger. Although I'm not too enamored with Birds of Prey; that book was much better under Gail Simone.

Animal Man and Swamp Thing are standouts. Some really awesome storytelling and art going on there.

Superman is as boring as ever and a bit confusing as well. Supergirl this iteration is boring. Superboy still just can't catch a break with a good set of stories.

Flash is doing pretty good with some interesting stuff, mainly the addition that when he runs he is, essentially, adding/removing time from the universe. Adds a new dimension to the Speed Force.

Green Arrow sucks now.

Green Lantern stuff...?  It's just there. Nothing really big or important. It was another one that wasn't touched (like Batman) and the continuity was kept but it's lifeless and dull for the most part.

Perhaps the biggest issue I have with DC right now (outside of their obvious other issues) is that they still feel the need for OMG BIG ARC EVENTS throughout all books. The Forever Evil shiat is still going even though the main books are back to normal; so you have one time period of the same universe going on while the after events of that universe are rolling alongside it, but we obviously can't see the fallout because the special event hasn't stopped yet.

spidermann: The Forever Evil

My pull list cost me 30-40 dollars extra because they sent me a bunch of hologram 26.1, 26.2, etc. bull shiat.  I was not pleased.

spidermann: Green Arrow sucks now.

Isnt Jeff Lemire writing Green Arrow now?  That is sad to hear.
