I got hit with this and I do not shop at Target or Neiman Marcus. They hit the card I only use at Amazon so who know who else got hacked.

Steam accounts got hacked a while back. I'm willing to bet that's how the thieves got my account information.

Yeah, no. If steam had been hit there would be literally millions of people at risk. You guys probably don't run noscript or adblock and got drive by trojaned by an advertisement.

All the information on steams servers is hashed. If they had broken into steam the most they would get is a bunch of random information that would be useless without the salt. I'm guessing you guys who ordered something off steam actually typed your credit card number into your browser or steam client right then when you ordered, it was not already stored with valve. If it was stored with valve it would be hashed. That right there is the only time that your credit information is in clear text, it's also entirely on your computer. QED, if somebody got your information it is because you typed that information in on a compromised computer. And in this day and age if you are not running adblockpro and noscript, you 100% deserve everything you get.
