This should be a fun thread.

"LEAVE JERRUH AND THE COWBOYS ALONE!!!"

To protect the name of the innocent, we will call him "George" to lend credence to the idea that he's a real person who discussed these things with me, instead of someone I made up to make my points (tenuous as they may be) seem credible.

Oh, FFS.  Cowboys fans need to stop whining and go gaze lovingly at pics of their 5 Super Bowl rings.

/some of us have ZERO rings at which to gaze

So... did he really leave Fark?

It's getting really hard to dislike the Cowboys. They're not to Lions or Browns level of heartbreak yet, but they seem determined to get there.

This crap gets the greenlight? It's not even good Cowboys trolling. It's basically saying that Jerry Jones is a terrible GM. I think even Di Atribe & Treygreen71 would agree with that.

Oh dear.

The season's over.  The Cowboys ended up 8-8 and out of the playoffs.  Can we give these threads a break?  They're like picking on the dumb Beiber in class or something.

I've always thought the Cowboys and the Marty Schottnheimer/Norv Turner Chargers mirrored each other, given the amount of talent on the rosters year in and year out and the failure to reach their massive expectations. And Rivers and Romo are the two best QB's in the league that haven't been to a Super Bowl.

Never happen.  5 Super Bowl rings certainly preclude that team from every reaching Lions, Browns, Jags, & Texans level of heartbreak.  NOT. EVEN. CLOSE.

They can only whine about not winning #6.

Brown inherited his team from his famous father, has zero Super Bowls, is camera shy and would rather die than spend an additional dollar on his team or his players.

Yet, after careful examination, with only minor differences, George is on to something.

Here are some major differences in the two men. There are only minor differences.

I'm a Hawks fan, so already there.

And from your position, it must be great to be a Raiders fan.

The Cowboys are just another run of the mill, sorta wishy-washy, sorta sometimes good franchise.  Calling them the Bengals is spot on.  If it weren't Dallas, nobody would give an everliving crap about them.  The definition of harmless.

They have 3.  Despite not getting #4 for 30 years, they still have 3...and that's better than ZERO.  Same reason (for me, that is) the 49er's are at the top of my list as absolutely the last team I want to see in the dance.  They have 5 rings.  I'd like to see some other teams on the list of 14 make it.

If you're a Hawks fan you're looking pretty good right now....you have a great chance to win out.  Unless you mean you're an Atlanta Hawks fan!  If so....same as it ever was (meh).

I agree as well.  We're ok with ragging on our owner.  We're all praying for him to die.  That's his legacy, I hope he's proud of it.

Sorta this. The problem is when Jerruh kicks the bucket, Stephen will take the reigns & we have the same thing all over again, only probably worse. Hell, at least the old man played the game at a competitive level & was on the Razorback's '64 National Championship team. So, he's at least go some football experience. Although you wouldn't know it, based on how he runs his team. Stephen, on the other hand, doesn't ever appear to have played a down that I know of.

To pray for Jerruh's death might not be the smartest thing we Cowboy fans could do. I mean, it'd be like praying for the assassination of President Bush (Sr.) when he was in office or President Obama now. Would you really have wanted an idiot like Dan Quayle (back then) or Joe Biden running the show? Me? Not so much at all.

I've heard Stephen interviewed numerous times, the guy really seems to have a much better grasp on reality than his dad does.

Also, he doesn't have the "Jimmy Johnson" chip on his shoulder.

Alternatively, Stephen might realize that he doesn't know shiat and let his football guys run the football operation.  Jerry is lousy because he thinks he knows way more than he does.

I dunno, Slow. I'll give you the Jimmy thing, but I don't know that we can look to Jerruh's grasp on reality as a barometer of how to build a team or evaluate talent.

Said it before & I'll say it again... He's simply doing it wrong. He's built the current roster from the outside in; taking on skill position player after skill position player & not addressing the epic sacks of fail-addled monkey shiat that are the O & D lines. Anyone who knows anything about football knows that games are won & lost at the line of scrimmage. He took one fuggin' O-lineman in the last draft. Arguably a good one, but only one when he needed at least two, AND at least one D-lineman. Aside from Frederick & Tyron Smith, that O-line is "meh" at best. Aside from Williams (another skill player at WR), everyone else that was taken in the last draft could barely get on the field.... BECAUSE THEY SUCKED!!!

Let's also not forget that Stephen, who has never played a down, oversees all elements of the scouting and player personnel departments for the Cowboys right now. He's a huge part of the problem, too. Trust me, it ain't gettin' any better when Jerruh leaves this mortal coil. I honestly think Jerruh's daughter, Charlotte, could do a better job.

Stephen is currently over all elements of the scouting and player personnel departments & has been for some time. I don't see that happening. We Cowboy fans can shiat in one hand and wish/want in the other & see which one fills up first.

What's great is, even though I don't know who you mean by "we," I still feel like you'd be getting the worse end of the deal.
