Sadly, GIS for "socialist penis pumps" is pretty boring.

This proves government is bad, smoking isn't harmful and global warming isn't happening.

//don't have a problem with Medicare covering treatments for ED
//do care if they are in fact paying 2x price
//which is highly questionable considering the source

Is there a valid medical use for these things?  I always assumed they were just a gimmick.

There's a ridiculous late-night infomercial for these (look up Post-T-Vac), and it specifically tells people they can bill Uncle Sam for them:

Well, if you're paralyzed, have suffered through certain types of prostate cancer, have certain diabetes side effects, high blood pressure, or other sources of complete erectile dysfunction these can come in handy.

I see no problem with this aside from the claim that they're paying too much for them.

If I GIS that how many marihuanas will I have need to inject to remove of myself the gays? I shall have like to be prepared with the quantity of appropriate amounts.

Could this be the implantable type, which are used for legit medical purposes? Otherwise, this does seem rather odd.

Mind you, it would be somewhat more practical than the old way of sending out specially trained snake charmers.

This. But I'm also willing to bet a good deal of them are the same as hoverrounds - people who don't need them using medicaid or medicare to get one of those fancy milking machines they saw on x-tube.

those goddamn things don't work

2014-01-13 06:42:59 PM
Given that the VA hospital I work at has a sexual health clinic, yes, the federal government is indeed spending money on penis pumps.  I'm pretty sure we're also spending money on birth control for the increasing number of female vets that come in... which to fox news I'm sure is even worse.

It's the scooter scam with a different product.

See also 'federal student loans and for profit colleges'.

2014-01-13 06:45:43 PM
It works out to roughly $350 dollars per penis pump which is basically some plastic tubing and stuff. Maybe a tad excessive...but hey it's rhinestone encrusted and signed by Fred Thompson so you know it works.

2014-01-13 06:46:20 PM
I'm no expert on this but it does seem that getting a  hardon, ejaculating alone or pleasing your partner could lower stress levels and raise self esteem, creating  healthier individuals.

Not this old xhit again.
$5K toilet seats and hammers??? Yea, right.

Tell me, just how would you hide funding for say, the NSA?

The federal government paid more than double the retail price for VES, the Department of Health and Human Services IG found. Medicare prices for the systems, the report said, "remain grossly excessive compared with the amounts that non-Medicare payers pay."

So now we want the government to use its leverage to negotiate for lower prices?

I can never keep it straight.

2014-01-13 06:47:26 PM
And you know what will change as a result of this finding?

Not a damned thing.

Yeah, and their capsules had a bad habit of sparking fires from reactive graphite in the pencils in a pure oxygen environment, too.

You say that like it's a BAD thing! Only 4 or 5 cosmonauts roasted like Christmas geese.

The really bad part was the reentry; they didn't land in the nice soft ocean; they landed on the land. (At least, at first they did)

/ we had our difficulties too; it kind of comes with the whole sitting on a million pounds of thrust department

In my job at a doctors office we get requests from these all the time. 3/5 requests are for an individual who is deceased. The other 2 living ones have no idea and they didn't request the VED. These companies are a first class scam.

"The fact that taxpayers have spent more than a quarter of a billion dollars over the past decade on penis pumps via Medicare is obscene and insulting - even more so when you consider that this is an arena of Medicare expenditures rife with fraud and where the government doesn't even bother to assess medical necessity," said Ben Domenech, a senior fellow at the Heartland Institute.

Aren't the senior fellows the ones needing all the pumpery?

The 1967, US bought 400 pens at $2.95 each from a man who spent his own money developing them.

On the Gemini and Mercury flights, NASA used pencils, but after the Apollo 1 fire, they wanted something that wouldn't burn in 100% oxygen environments.

Ok, maybe it wasn't a million dollar space pen; but, they didn't say what the actual figure was. And the Russians really did use pencils.

/ besides; snopes isn't exactly the most reliable source. Queue the cartoon about snopes disproving that they didn't start the rumors to begin with

Hey, you. Yeah you, stop posting that story like it's true. It's a tired old urban legend that NASA spent millions of dollars on pens while the Russians used pencils. The space pen was developed by Paul Fisher, a private citizen, who then sold them to NASA for use in the space program. The Russians bought and used them too because using pencils in space is a hazard to sensitive electronic equipment.

Of course dimwit right wingers love to trot out this story as a prime example of government waste. Too bad it, like many of their beliefs, is not true.
