So what does a hack comic have to do with the fact that the native american aboriginal people were the first to find the north american north west coast?

If they had to find it, they couldn't have been aboriginal, now, could they?

They're squatters too, they just came over a land bridge a couple tens of thousands of years earlier.

It (the coin) was found in December by retired security specialist Bruce Campbell

That is all the proof i need.  If the Bruce found the coin then it must be real.

I learned long ago if Bruce Campbell says something he means it. He'll use his stuff on you if you don't believe him.

That's cool; I'm related to SFD. Probably just about everybody is. I think he was the Capt. Kirk of the 1500's. Word on the street is that he even nailed the Queen.

I hope Drake murders Dane Cook's vagina.

That's purportedly why the coins are there.  Drake was giving them out as gifts.  Since this one didn't make it off the beach, it's pretty clear what the "previous tenants" thought of it.

Of course, it wouldn't be the first time someone forged a Drake artifact on the West Coast:

Wasn't there a helluva trading network all across the continent at that point?  Pacific Coast shell money turned up well into the prairies, right?.  It's not inconceivable that a coin given out in Californian could have gone up the coast.  Replace Drake with Makah traders or someone similar, and your scenario still makes sense.

/can someone who actually knows this stuff back me up?
//or refute me where I'm wrong?

Yes there was.  That's why Norse artifacts have ended up in plenty of places.

Pretty clear?  Far from it.  It could have been a treasured family heirloom for generations before the person who last had it in their possession died while lying on the beach looking up at the stars.  With so long between the coin being minted and rediscovered, it's really hard to speculate on what the intervening 500 years held for it.
