Gee, I wonder why all those climate-change deniers won't submit papers for peer review?

There's two possible explanations:

1) Worldwide scientific conspiracy to hurt American capitalism
2) Same reason Bigfoot investigators don't submit peer-reviewed papers

Which do you think it is?

Of course, the scientists have data to back up their conclusions. What did the priests have?

Still desperately hoping that you'll find a thread where you won't be corrected?

You've been through this before. Short version: there's a reason you start your graph in 1996.

What are you hoping to accomplish here?

I just wanted to thank you personally for keeping the debate alive.  If this debate ever becomes settled, there will be no reason to have 2258 papers published in a year on the topic.  You don't read 2258 papers about how gravity is happening because there's no funding for it, there's no debate so no one cares enough to fund it.

Actually, he was placed under house arrest (in a luxurious villa owned by an Archbishop) for writing a book where he implicitly called the Pope an idiot. He systematically alienated his supporters and and gave ammunition to his detractors all while promoting a half-arsed cosmological model which had been superseded decades ago by something more accurate.

Yeah nice try. But if you are going to compare it to that then the priests are big oil companies and right wing conservatives who have vested interests in them. And instead of one scientist, you have thousands calling them out.

Still using HadCRUT3 eh? So, not only do you cherry-pick the years you plot, you are cherry-picking by using an older data set (which stopped being updated almost two years ago).

This is why deniers have zero credibility: The blatant dishonesty.

If you have to lie then you don't actually have an argument. Just propaganda.

I'll tell you how you know it's a hoax: they say there are increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the air, acting as a greenhouse gas and warming the planet. But carbon is black, so if this was true we should easily be able to see it. Is the air turning black? No it isn't!

Checkmate, libtards.

hardinparamedic: Dude, you've been on this schtick for the past two years.

The best part is, when he first started the graph looked like this:

suyts.files.wordpress.com

They've had to repeatedly change the starting month (not year; month) just to get it to a flat line. It's almost as though they're trying to manipulate the data into not showing something. I wonder what that could POSSIBLY be.

2014-01-13 09:36:57 AM
Sure, almost all of the climate scientists believe in anthropogenic climate change, but this study doesn't count medical doctors, geology engineers or right wing grad students, like the Oregon Petition does.

Once you count made-up scientists, tens of thousands of scientists believe that science is a gigantic hoax to allow scientists to use their grad student budget to buy Ferraris and cheap sluts. Very, very expensive cheap sluts. Also, plants breath carbon dioxide*.

*Sadly, we breath oxygen, just like forest fires do.

2014-01-13 09:38:24 AM
That just shows how powerful the conspiracy is.

2014-01-13 09:38:28 AM

Gunther: I wonder what that could POSSIBLY be.

The last 198 months of global average surface temperature, just like is written right on the farking graph?

2014-01-13 09:38:36 AM
So Obama and Gore funded (welfare handout) 9,137 studies on climate change to the same old list of defenders. This is just another False Flag operation to occupy the news cycle so the MSM doesn't have to talk about Benghazi since Bridgegate is falling apart as a story. Your tax dollars at work.

2014-01-13 09:39:10 AM
Depends what you mean by "directly influenced by man". The most hardcore skeptics of climate change do not deny that producing more CO2 raises the temperature. You can reproduce that in a lab and denying that pretty much makes you a cretin.

But there's lots of people, including scientists who have a different view on the effect of rising CO2 on the climate.

Of course, I'm the denier for wondering why the observed trend of 0.05 ± 0.08 °C per decade from 1995-2012 is more than four times smaller than the average simulated trend of 0.21 ± 0.03 °C per decade , rather than people who are desperately looking for it, rather than asking if perhaps the hypothesis is a bit broken. But I'd welcome answers to people on when they would start questioning it. 2017? 2020? 2025?

2014-01-13 09:40:16 AM

1) Worldwide scientific conspiracy to hurt American capitalism
2) Same reason Bigfoot investigators don't submit peer-reviewed papers

Trick question. Those are both exactly the same.

2014-01-13 09:40:34 AM
Just to stir this up a bit... if you actually download the excel file with the list of articles, you get some real climate related gem topics, like these:

A closed-circuit gas recycling system for RPC detectors

A Comparison of Water Quality Between Low- and High-Flow River Conditions in a Tropical Estuary, Hilo Bay, Hawaii

A comprehensive overview of the spatial and temporal variability of apple bud dormancy release and blooming phenology in Western Europe

A coral reef refuge in the Red Sea

A hybrid life cycle assessment of water treatment chemicals: an Australian experience

A knowledge-aid approach for designing high-performance buildings

A model of the circadian clock in the cyanobacterium Cyanothece sp ATCC 51142

A Multidimensional Analysis of Electricity Generation Options with Different Scenarios in Turkey

A new static lighting concentrator with optical coupler

And that's not even going through all of the "a" section...

You will forgive me if I don't consider the guy who wrote the paper on
static lighting concentrator with optical coupler to be an expert on climate science.  Now, maybe he is.  But if your case is so strong, why do you need to include these rather questionable "climate related" papers at all?  Just because a paper may mention climate change in passing in its abstract, as some justification for the need for more research (and money!) into their topic of choice, doesn't mean the guy writing it has any experience studying it, enough to make a convincing argument.

And I'm not coming down on either side of this, I just find it frustrating when potentially  convincing items like this are diluted with nonsense to inflate numbers.  It also puts into question how cherry picked these 9137 articles are...

2014-01-13 09:40:39 AM
The cold snap has really brought out the ignorance. I see lots of "hurf derp, AlGore" type of crap when I tell them that extreme cold is thought to be a side effect.

The planet could hurtle towards the sun and while we're all busy burning up the 'tard crowd just herps and derps about Al Gore and liberals.
