I don't think that dress can ride much lower before we're in NSFW territory.

I showed up at a couple of Drinking Liberally events several years ago, and at one of them our congressman attended. I enjoyed talking policy with a member of Congress over a couple of fine local microbrews.

The man is the colour of a glazed ham

He also contains approximately the same water-to-pork-fat ratio as a glazed ham.

Phil McKraken: I want to party with Rob Ford.

Please, like there's anything to drink or smoke left when you're in the same room as him.

Rob Ford: the lovechild of Chris Farley and Chris Christie.

So, is Rob Ford good at mayoring or is he still in office because Toronto has lost its mind?

He ran on a platform of cutting taxes, specifically the car registration and land transfer taxes.  He apparently delivered.  That, and I think a big chunk of the population of Toronto would love a chance to go party with the guy.

He's still in office because there's no mechanism to remove him and the next election isn't until October. Plus, what ShawnDoc said.

And possibly re-elect him.

He certainly gave up teetotaling real fast (a friend of mine got a picture with him before Christmas too). But that's just because he's an addict. So am I, but I don't have a city's reputation and a bunch of other people's money and lives in my hands (less now). His policy is disastrous and shortsighted. People are stupid.

I'm very sad for my city right now.

"Race to the Bottom" guys can always count on the stupid 30% to vote for them if they promise lower taxes, without regard to anything else they do or don't do.

Thats about the least worst thing he's ever done.

God that red face is such a tell for a middle aged white male alcoholic. You would think at this point he would put some damn best powder on that mug.

And Ford will run his re-election campaign on the two pronged platform of "low taxes" and "stick it to the libs"

and he'll win

Perhaps.  We're going to have to see though if a) Lisi flips on him to get a better sentence and b) the police have the balls to charge Ford with conspiracy.  That being said, in the mayoral race, it looks like he's going to have to run against some other right wing douches (though not as douchey as he is).  If the mouthbreathing suburb vote gets split, there's room for a centrist or left leaning candidate to get in.

Though I work in Toronto, and love the city, I'm very glad I don't live here.  The infrastructure's going to reach crisis levels soon and there isn't the revenue or political will to prepare the city for the future.

But hey, taxes are lowish.

Maybe Toronto doesn't get the Mayor it wants. Maybe it gets the Mayor it deserves.
