"Do not underestimate the venom of Andrew Cuomo and his minions," Bauerle said on his radio show Dec. 31. "He will attempt to destroy anyone who gets in his way."

Amherst police have been dispatched to Bauerle's home numerous times in recent weeks, two police sources said. One source counted 13 times since Nov. 18.

This sounds rather like the attorney in Dallas who called in a burglary at his high-rise apartment and then hid in the lobby and tried to ambush the police officers who responded. The ending was a bit different though -- but we still have time for a sequel.

For whatever reason, the crazy liberal spectrum gravitates towards terrible talk shows, like Rosie O'Donnell and The View. Since the brain-melting wasteland of afternoon chat shows are the shameful legacy of both Phil Donahue and Geraldo, both sides of the political arena share some blame for this, but the real culprits are all the dummies who haven't figured out how to use their remotes to switch to smarter daytime programming like Dora the Explorer or Magic Bullet infomercials.

As for the 24-hr news channel Chicken Little "the sky is always falling and it's the other guys' fault!" shoutfests, most of them are the inbred descendents of CNN's Crossfire, so thanks a lot, Ted Turner.

*Very* thin line there.

2014-01-12 12:51:40 PM
Conservativism seems to be a mental illness.

It's kind of like a combination of paranoid schizophrenia, autism, and in some cases, Tourette Syndrome.

Actually, I could believe it's a type of autism.

Autistic individuals display many forms of repetitive or restricted behavior, which the Repetitive Behavior Scale-Revised (RBS-R)categorizes as follows.

* Stereotypy is repetitive movement, such as hand flapping, head rolling, or body rocking.

* Compulsive behavior is intended and appears to follow rules, such as arranging objects in stacks or lines.

* Resistance to change (Sameness); for example, insisting that the furniture not be moved or refusing to be interrupted.

* Ritualistic behavior involves an unvarying pattern of daily activities, such as an unchanging menu or a dressing ritual. This is closely associated with sameness and an independent validation has suggested combining the two factors.

* Restricted behavior is limited in focus, interest, or activity, such as preoccupation with a single television program, toy, or game.

* Self-injury includes movements that injure or can injure the person, such as eye poking, skin picking, hand biting, and head banging.

Hmmmmm

The first are crazy, in a slang-term, casual way. They're not actually irrational because there is something wrong with them, they're irrational because they want to be.

That's probably true. I suspect there's a high proportion of nuts in both political extremes, though. Fanatical distrust of the government, delusions of persecution and a disproportionate sense of self-importance don't need to be linked to a specific political ideology.

I'm not going to argue against anything you just said, but just to point out the obvious; liberals don't generally put their crazy people on radio, tv and book tours.

I'm a despicable human being I know, but I get lotsa laughs when a public figure goes nuts. Love me a good meltdown, especially if it involves yelling..

A few years back I was reading a women's gossip magazine in a doctor's waiting room, a story about Farrah Fawcett and her concerns for her drug-farked son. She recounted a story of finding him outside their home, shouting and carrying on, freaking out about Russian helicopters flying overhead, manned by GORILLAS in army uniforms, all packin' machine guns.

Russian helicopters. Nice touch there.

And about 6 years ago one of Western Australia's favourite sporting sons spent the last few hours of his life out in his back yard in his ritzy neighbourhood, in the middle of the night, YELLING AT IMAGINARY PEOPLE! The cops visited him to have a quiet chat. A few hours later he was toes-up.

2-<immaterial as I never said he has an audience>

What else you got?

Ask yourself this: How many crazy right wing radio shows are there across this country? Lots. How many of them have equally crazy listeners? Lots. How many left wingers tune in to listening to Cindy Sheehan or Marion Berry spew crazy shiat day in and day out? None.

And being reelected to a fairly unimportant member of an toothless city counsel isn't really a ringing endorsement.

Don't go on about the mayorship: that was over 20 years ago. Anywhere besides Anacostia, he's a laughingstock.

Marion Barry was Mayor of D.C. from 1995-1999. You aren't displaying good math skills.
Point is, he held a major office, recently enough.

"Mayor for life" Barry isn't so much crazy as he's a complete "storefront preacher" populist sleazebag in a town where all politics are neighborhood-local. D.C. doesn't even control it's own budget.

Wake me when he ends up on the House intelligence committee.

"Obama Invades Uganda, Targets Christians"
 - Rush Limbaugh show, October 14, 2011.

So yeah, pretty much.

Does anyone listen to that fat assbag anymore?
I actually thought he died at one point a few years back and was surprised he was still wasting good air my cats could otherwise be farting into.

I don't care who you are: that shiat is funny.

Johnny Bananapeel: Weird. If we saw a guy dragging himself down the sidewalk with congestive heart failure or a compound leg fracture he'd be in an ambulance and on his way to some sort of treatment before an hour passed. Mental illness we snark or ignore. Weird.

I don't care if you've got Parkinson's and are America's sweetheart, once you load a gun and start hollering at the neighborhood, the police handle you, not the ambulance.

What an odd thread to throw up that soapbox.

Or just old fashioned nutjob?

Nut job.

I've listened to this Baurle character. What a dope. He had two rants on separate shows that I caught. He railed against holding a Constitutional Convention for NY, and that movement succeeded...not because of him. He later railed against the tenure of teachers in NY. I called him on air and pointed out that the Taylor Laws, this includes arbitration and labor for teachers, can only be changed by holding a state constitutional convention. He went crazy trying to figure out that you cannot change teacher tenure without having a constitutional convention, and yet he wanted the law changed without the constitutional convention. He said "Duhhhhhh," several times and went blank.

Holy balls, everything about this guy is a cry for help.  It's all right here in this photo.

LOL.  You did one of those Mitt Romney "small face" shops on him.  Hilarious.

Oops.  My bad.  That's actually what his head looks like in real life.  Now I kind of feel bad for laughing at him.

Also, from the article:  "I've been very, very exhausted lately," he said on WBEN Friday. "There have been a number of things I've had to deal with healthwise. I honestly had to catch up on sleep and get my head in the game.

Translated into standard English, what he's trying to tell us is that he's addicted to Adderall (if he has health insurance) or meth (if he has to pay for his crazy out of his own pocket).  Either way, he's been staying of four or five days at a time, and the Keebler Elves in his toaster oven are telling him to make shoes out of his dog's feet.   Those elves are crazy, many.  Nobody is gonna give it up for a shoe made out of a dog's foot.

Before Reagan closed down all the mental hospitals weren't people like this automatically locked up?

Dude, I already told you that you don't have to walk.  I'd be happy to pick you up at the bus terminal.
