At least they were able to get the puppy back. I wish they would release the name of the thief and throw the book at her.

Another article with more pictures of the cute pup. I love the one where he's standing on the police car.

What an inexplicably idiotic crime.

You steal a dog.
From a little girl.
With leukaemia.
You're the one entrusted to deliver it to her.
And it's a farking pug.

Dog goes missing, dog goes home. You can't explain that.

2014-01-12 08:18:47 AM
Seriously, is this person mentally ill? WTF would make you think "I'm just going to keep this dog that belongs to someone else" and think it's okay?

Monkeyfark Ridiculous  And it's a farking pug.

This.

WTF?  Did she think she was going to get away with it?

"Oh, hai!  I don't know what happened to the puppy you entrusted me to deliver.  It must've jumped out of the car window as I was en route to deliver it to the little girl!  Sorry!"

I don't know about pugs specifically but I do that pure bred puppies can be hundreds or even thousands of dollars. I'm guessing a few hundred at least if it has a good pedigree, that's why sometimes you'll see articles about puppy litters being stolen. It can be quite a bit of money.

Stealing a puppy from someone should be grounds for corporal punishment. Some kind of frat style paddle machine, but made of every dog owner in town.

Pugs aren't for me. They're just too damn stupid to survive without human intervention. However, they are probably the BEST dog for a girl with leukemia, because all the want to do is love you and be loved. And they can cost thousands -  http://www.puppyfind.com/view_listing/?list_id=n7o7l201ef&sid=b56bf64 4 0286f8a6f4a6d8bfa9650499&back=%2Ffor_sale%2F%3Fbreed_id%3D90%26country %3

"...And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling pugs!"

That said, that's a cute freakin' puppy they found in the article. If you gave me a puppy that cute to give to a sick little girl on Christmas, I might have to refuse to do so because that's much d'aaaaaaaw in one go might kill her.

Narcissism. It's very common. The thought process is simple:

I have it
I want it
Therefore I am keeping it.

That story is slanted to make the woman look like a classic villain. She's actually a very nice person. For me to poop on!

2014-01-12 10:13:59 AM
No, see, this woman heard "Look, keep fa' me, yeah?" when the purpose of the pug was described to her and has been valiantly defending her charge against an oppressive and overbearing police state ever since.

She's a hero, really.

I'd be more concerned about the fact that a moronic dog thief apparently has enough pull at City Hall to receive alerts about potential search warrants.

That, and this FTFA:
The dog wasn't found at the residence. Police said they searched several other locations and eventually found the pug at a house in the 5500 block of Carlton Way.

Warrantless searches for this?
Oh, hey, we're just going to come on in and search the place because of some dog that didn't get delivered or something.  Nobody's proven anyone's story about anything but we're coming in anyway.  Doesn't matter, you're guilty by association.  You live in the area.

I wonder how old that picture is.  In the background, there's an original PlayStation, an NES, and an SNES.
