Headline lies unless you lack a basic understanding of the physics of pool

That being said there are some very cool shots there

I wonder how much felt he's ruined practicing to get to the point of doing some of those crazy trick shots.

Really neat looking trick shots in controlled conditions, I'd prefer to see this sort of thing during genuine games.  No opportunity to repeat the same attempt a couple OCD driven thousand times, that's where it really counts.

Do these trick shot guys do regular billiards tournaments? How do they fare?

2014-01-11 06:29:55 PM
Slightly more impressive than setting up a bunch of dominoes and tipping one over.

I'd say less.  You only get one take with the dominoes.

Impressed with the shots he took at the cue while while the cue ball was already in motion.

Not top level.  Though after tournaments the top guys will do a best trick shot shoot off which can be pretty entertaining.  Some close to this level but with those you get only get one shot to force opponent to make the same shot, they get two tries.

Look up some of Efren 'Bata' Reyes' shots.

the physics were easy to understand.

Them cutting most of the shots before cue ball fell into the pocket was interesting.

English, learn it.

Post-production motion trails are cheesy.

since alot of those shots had full racks on the table and him hitting the cue ball more than once (once in mid-air.........wow!) I would be quite pissed playing against this guy.

Geez, how many times did they cut because he sunk the cue ball?  Sure, some of the shots were neat, but it's less impressive when you're constantly scratching.

I feel like throwing my pool table in the bin after watching that.

/wow

I've only ever done one cool shot in pool. My path to the 8 ball was blocked by another ball and it was all of 6 or 7 inches away, so I jumped the one in the way to knock in the 8. I've never successfully gotten the cue ball to jump another ball again, although I never tore any felt trying to get it done

fake.

Still won't get laid.

When I play pool the cue ball goes in all kinds of crazy directions like that. It's not on purpose though.

/I suck at pool

Meh....he's just a spinner with the optimum cue.

Trick shots are neat and all, but why do most of those guys have to act so douchey all the time?

Is that the same guy that is in this video?

Warning-don't click if the sight of a hot lady in a short skirt will bother you.

Some of those would have looked a little more impressive with a que ball with no dots, so you could really see how much spin was on the ball.

Would have been better with her in a bikini, but I am sure Billiards is just too classy a sport to whore themselves out like that huh?

Totally, they cut those shots so you wouldn't see that he scratched.  This guy sucks and his flair is ridiculous.

At least he has a punchable face.

In most bars, the tables are older than you are.  The balls are dinged up, the sticks are all curved to some degree, the felt is hammered in high-traffic areas, and the slate has terrain like a moto-X course after soaking in decades of spilled beer.

THAT's pool.

This perfect lab-setting BS is never seen in the real world.

Yeah, that was nuts. The one he did at 2:49 actually caused me to yell "WHAT?!?" at my computer screen.
