(Huffington Post)   Photos from the set of 'Star Wars' taken by the actor who played Chewbacca. Proof once again that only Carrie Fisher could rock the Slave Leia outfit properly. Well, her and her stunt double   (huffingtonpost.com) divider line 50

This is the onset of puberty right there.

If I maybe pedantic, wouldn't the production of the Jabba's palace and Endor scenes be separate enough that Ewok actors wouldn't have been been present at the former? Or did Carrie Fisher just rock the slave bikini for other phases of production? Bet it was good for morale.

So does Pete just have the hots for Carrie, or did Leia spend the entirety of filming conquering Wookiee mountain?

Maybe he played some creature in Jabba's Palace?  I know they reused people quite a bit.

That's a possibility. Or Warwick could have been there shooting his "home movie" and had been visiting the set at the time. If I remember correctly only he and Kenny Baker were allowed to fly to the US to film their Ewok scenes. The rest of the Ewoks in the forest battle were played by American midgets (Brits played the Ewoks on the village set).

Indeed. I follow Peter Mayhew on twitter, but it's sad that I have to say "Chewbacca" to some people so they'll know who I'm talking about.

IIRC Warwick Davis was 12-13 years old when ROTJ was released in 1983.

There isn't even a script yet, but its being co-written by Lawrence Kasdan who was a co-writer for Empire, RoTJ and Raiders of the Lost Ark.  There also is another thread up today about Disney planning to officially cut a significant portion of the Expanded Universe (EU) which is currently quasi-canon and set an official Star Wars canon.

I knew a guy who had worked on the set of Jabba's ship many years ago. He talked about how he looked down from one of the prop ships one day, and could see Carrie Fisher's stunt double sunbathing topless. He said she saw him, and just smiled and waved. He also said that Carrie Fisher was a coont. I had no reason to doubt him.

Since she was coked out of her mind during at least the last two films, I buy that.

agent00pi: What about this Slave Leia?

I never liked that parody. The costumes looked so cheap, like the director just grabbed a bathrobe and a santa beard he got from the dollar store. And why was she dressed as slave leia anyway? The guys were coming back from a comic convention, so why is she dressed like that just to hang around the hallway?

I think I remember the special on the making of Return of the Jedi showed Kenny Baker or a British actor of similar age and size was one of the people inside the Jabba rig moving his tail.

IIRC it took a few other small actors in the Jabba rig to control his arms, head, mouth and tongue. Perhaps Warwick heloed out on that?

Or since they filmed the Jabba's Palace scenes in the UK maybe Warwick came to visit the set or help out on a day while Carrie was in her slave costume.

I'm not saying she was all sunshine and puppies, but there's probably a reason she wasn't so friendly and that reason was way too much coke.

I just saw an interview with her on the CBC show "Q" and she's an interesting lady.  She's been through a lot of personal transformation over the years and has a fair bit of perspective about many things, including her time on Star Wars.  I just appreciate that while she doesn't consider playing Leia to be the pinnacle of her life, she doesn't seem to regret it either.  (I've always thought it was sad that Alec Guiness thought he was too good for Star Wars, though of course that didn't stop him from cashing George's checks.)
