If he's marrying his sister than why do all he pictures show him with his dad? And why is his dad wearing a wig?

John Buck 41: So THAT'S how it is in that family. (too lazy to find the pic of Principal Ed)

The irony being that that actor was later arrested for being a deviated prevert and being involved in a mutiny of preverts.

jake3988: A) For the millionth time, Woody Allen did not marry anyone related in any way to him. He never married Mia Farrow which means her adopted daughter means nothing to him. Therefore, not the same.

Agreed. Mia has been a fine example of the ex who will lie as much as possible just to ruin an otherwise innocent man's life.

Cruel, but funny.

Fark_Guy_Rob:

I realize that, in this case, they weren't biologically related - but I don't see how that should matter.  in fact, in many places, being related through marriage will still make it illegal for you to marry.

They're not biologically related? Then who gives a fark?

BTW, SPOILER -- the movie currently in theaters called August Osage County contains a shocking revelation about something like this:

One of Meryl Streep's daughters is banging her first cousin...who later turns out to be...HER BROTHER!

Bum bum BAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

Sorry. That's off topic, but it's still fresh in my mind.

/The movie sucked.
//Extremely well acted, but horribly written.

He still helped raise the girl, if only for a short while.  That's the icky part.  You don't raise a young person and then think "hey, I've made you pretty boinkable.  Besides, remember when your boobs came in and I helped you pick out bras? Still wear hello kitty?"

Did he?

"To think that Woody was in any way a father or stepfather to me is laughable. My parents are Andre Previn and Mia, but obviously they're not even my real parents," Previn said at the time. "I came to America when I was seven. I was never remotely close to Woody. He was someone who was devoted exclusively to his own children and to his work, and we never spent a moment together."

Previn also said the two began seeing each other around the time she was 20-years-old. She told Time magazine "By that time his relationship with Mia was long done, and they were going through the motions." She added, "They were friendly but rarely went out, and apart from when they worked together or played with their children, had little to do with one another."

I always thought that Woody Allen was creepy and highly neurotic and I never liked his movies. But I don't have much of an opinion about his wife. It was certainly kind of weird to hook up with a 21-year-old when he was, what? 50 or 55? And very mean to Mia Farrow to dump her like that, but as for the rest of it......if you love somebody, you love them. And apparently they did.

Mr. Shabooboo: coeyagi: The daughter has a very impressive mwanya (Swahili for "gap in teeth"), legendary in fact.  Michael Strahan's throne is up for grabs.

Terry Thomas..Now that is a tooth gap you can walk through..

That's Terry-Thomas to you, peasant.

I know, but I didn't want to tarnish his reputation any further.

So some kid came to live with them at 12 years old and they end up getting married.  OMG so scandalous!
/Should have just not read the article and commented something about it being gross, like it's expected on Fark!

Fark_Guy_Rob: Am I the only one that (yes, seriously) supports incestuous marriage?  I mean, I don't *advocate* it any more than I advocate any form of marriage, but like a lot of people, I *support* gay marriage.  But for all the reasons I support gay marriage, I support incestuous marriage.  I honestly think it's silly that we're having these debates over gay marriage while we still have laws on the books that makes it illegal for consenting adults to get married.

The arguments against it, basically, amount to 'eww gross'.

People will say it is unnatural (they said that about gay marriage too).
People will talk about increased risk of disease (they said that about gay lifestyles too - remember HIV the *gay* disease?).  Besides, marriage doesn't require having biological children (again, see gay marriage or the large number of male/female marriages that are childless).  We also permit people with a known (higher than usual) chance of passing on other genetic diseases to procreate.

I realize that, in this case, they weren't biologically related - but I don't see how that should matter.  in fact, in many places, being related through marriage will still make it illegal for you to marry.

No, it's a really, really bad idea. This isn't just a massive *squick* factor. It's that any offspring have a high rate of deformity. You're mixing genes with someone who has 50% of genes.

And it thankfully happens rarely because of the Westermarck effect, which makes siblings view each other as sexually revolting, and means that incest between siblings only generally happens when they didn't grow up together (the Westermarck effect even applies to adopted siblings, but only up to about the age of 6).

Adopted sibling after 12? It's not right, but it's OK.

Clutch2013: Infernalist: No blood relation, no official adoption, they've known each other since about the age of 12.

I'm from Texas, East Texas.  If you think 'this' situation is scandalous, I could tell you stories that'd have you doubting the existence of God.

Well, I'm up for a little weird today. Go for it.

In my old home town, two first cousins got drunk and farked in the back of a pickup truck.  She got pregnant from it.  They are still together now and she calls him her "Cous-band".

Yeah, that was pretty farked up for Mia Farrow. She was bitter? Well, fark me, why?? I guess Woody didn't have the balls to break up with her, so he "accidentally" left some nude photos of the girl where she'd see them. That was the rumor, anyway, and it sounds just like Woody Allen. And then he's like, "What the big deal?" Weirdo.

But how is outlawing marriage going to prevent such genetic problems?   Some 50% of births are outside of wedlock anyway.  If two relatives want to get together and have kids I don't think being unmarried is gonna be too scandalous for them.

Fair point. Especially as people like that aren't going to get married. What would be the point when you'll only get half the gifts?

They aren't biologically related so it's ok.
