If only there was some technology that enabled them quickly sending out this message to everyone throughout the country...?

Guns are modern inventions.  They should ban those, too, for good measure.

Calling al Shabab a "Somalia rebel group" is being a little too kind, subby.  Tyrannical Islamic terrorist group is closer to the truth.  In the towns they control, their version of sharia law is strictly enforced under threat of gun, machete, bomb, fire, whatever means necessary.

Iirc, they have a very lively cellphone market (yeah, surprised me too), so I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of them were on the 'net via phone.

Something you need to take to the end of the world, and then you throw the evil thing off the cliff.

/Suddenly, everybody needed it most of the time. A thing they had never needed before became a necessity.

It's a little hard recruiting new pirates when the internet is full of what happens to pirates when the rest of the world gets ahold of them.

The use of Somalia as the baseline for all things dangerous and decrepit is tiresome and untrue. After decades of hard work by a lot of people who want nothing more than a peaceful existence and some  of the perks of modernity, the country is slowly but surely being taken back from the idiot fundamentalists.

Somalia's ambitions online could bring Mogadishu to the world

As construction replaces chaos, the east African country's business people and returning diaspora are rebuilding the nation

Submitter is lazy, ignorant, or both.
