JohnnyC: StoPPeRmobile: HMS_Blinkin: JohnnyC: While that is an incredible amount of powerful hardware and some badass monitors... I think I'll save my money and buy an Oculus Rift when they come out.

Exactly.  Why buy all those screens if you can just get Rift and have an even better visual experience, for what, about $300?  Just because you CAN spend thousands of dollars on monitors doesn't mean you SHOULD spend thousands of dollars on monitors.

Why yes, I would much rather constantly turn my head all day instead of just moving my hand slightly.

The Oculus Rift has a more than 90 degree field of view on the horizontal (110+ on the diagonal). So you'll have to turn your head occasionally to see the things that wouldn't even get displayed on a triple monitor setup? Oh the horror... I think you're right though, the awesomeness of the Oculus Rift might not be for you.

Well here's a question then:  How does it handle everything that isn't a 3d game engine?  Like a desktop experience and the apps that are used as panes within it.  Like with coding or system administration and you want to have several putty windows open of various dimensions.  Does it support anything like that?

I don't think it has ever fit better.
