exvaxman: It surprised me how nice she was
TrotlineDesigns: As long as the money filters through her she will speak out for anything.
Tom_Slick: exvaxman: It surprised me how nice she wasI met her in the mid 90s (after her empire fell apart) and was impressed by the same thing. I was working at a conference center as a waiter, there was this large Christian Conference of some sort there and she was speaking, for the most part the attendees were jerks, she on the other hand took the time to speak with every staff member she met and seemed to really care for the rest of humanity, She really seemed to be a true "Love Thy Neighbor" Christian.
HotIgneous Intruder: She'll be a gay cult icon after a time.
Slagnasty: TrotlineDesigns: As long as the money filters through her she will speak out for anything. She can speak out for things from the grave? Cool.
Trik: hmm, I thought their fall came in the late 80'soh well, doesn't much matter any more
ransack.: TrotlineDesigns: As long as the money filters through her she will speak out for anything. She's dead, fool. She isn't doing anything.
bighairyguy: Colonel Sanders was gay and had AIDS?
AgentKGB: Doesn't seem to be a lot of those left.
FirstNationalBastard: bighairyguy: Colonel Sanders was gay and had AIDS?the special blend 11 herbs and spices weren't his only secret.
abhorrent1: They've both been dead for years. Who the fark cares?
bighairyguy: FirstNationalBastard: bighairyguy: Colonel Sanders was gay and had AIDS?the special blend 11 herbs and spices weren't his only secret.I'm glad KFC didn't have "special sauce" like McDonald's.
TrotlineDesigns: ransack.: TrotlineDesigns: As long as the money filters through her she will speak out for anything. She's dead, fool. She isn't doing anything.I didn't care enough about her to know she was dead or RTFA but I noticed enough about the FarkLine to be reminded that we piss far to much money away on AIDS research.
MutantMotherMouse: We were talking about the Bakers/PTL downfall over the holidays and our young adult children asked 'who?' 'what?'. It occurred to me that we're primed for another generation to be fall victim of these mega-church scammers. The young adults maybe aren't as diligent and the elderly don't remember. It maybe the younger generation is more skeptical and aware than I give them credit.
exvaxman: All stories I heard first hand about him were what a great person he was. Including from where he developed the recipe in Shelbyville
exvaxman: I met her once in Gatlinburg, Tn. It surprised me how nice she was. I was laughing at a t-shirt that that a street vendor was selling that had a real mess of colors on the front that said "I ran into Tammy Faye at the mall". She tapped me on the shoulder and said that if I bought it she would sign it. I was at a loss for words for a moment. I declined saying the shirt was in poor taste and nothing I would ever wear. She smiled, thanked me, and walked off with the couple of other people she was with.
exvaxman: FirstNationalBastardHighly offensive. All stories I heard first hand about him were what a great person he was. Including from where he developed the recipe in Shelbyville and scared the newlywed who lived upstairs by asking constantly if she liked the chicken. She thought she could not cook as well. From the realty agent that sold the couple that house with him remaining in the lower level. I dislike the KFC chicken but really enjoyed Claudia's stories.
ransack.: How can you dislike KFC chicken? I mean, it's not the best chicken in the world, but what's to dislike?
