jbc: Just wait until they integrate it into Android.
Barry Lyndon's Annuity Cheque: If you turned on Google+ on your account, you deserve anything that comes to you.
NewportBarGuy: But, they promised to do no evil?
Telos: Much ado about nothing here. People can email you through your G+ account without knowing you. People can already email you without knowing you, so this is basically not even a change.
GrailOfThunder: You can turn it off, fortunately. Settings/General tab.
Electrify: TL;DR if you don't use Google+, you have nothing to worry about.
Ditto: I deleted all of my Google account but my Gmail a while back. The only reason I still have gmail is because I have my email forwarded to gmail because I have an Android phone and this makes it easier to read my mail. I don't get that much mail though and will ditch gmail if they try to use it to force G+ on me.
Smackledorfer: I guess I don't understand the outrage.
MmmmBacon: Google+ isn't that bad. It has many advantages over Facebook and Twitter, while being simple and easy to use. Once you have created a few Circles, you'll never want to leave Google+!*spark* *glitch*... many ad-vaaaantages...*sputter*... neverleaveneverleaveneverleaveneverleave...
log_jammin: I thought you HAVE to have google+ if you have gmail
The Crepes of Wrath: log_jammin: I thought you HAVE to have google+ if you have gmailNope. Activated G+ when it first came out, didn't like it, turned it off. Still have Gmail.
Ishkur: I farking hate it.I watch an awful lot of weird and odd videos on youtube (as I'm sure we all do), and sometimes I comment on them. And then a few months ago Google decided to link it up to a Google+ account which I don't want and won't use, but whatever. My real name isn't attached to either anyway. But somehow, over the past two months, my idle, vacant, empty Google+ account got added to the "circles" (whatever the fark that is) of other Google+ users. Some of them are employers and clients of mine. I have no idea how they found my unused G+ account that I never visit and has nothing on it, but they have (it's creepy how intelligent the recommendations modules on social media sites are these days. LinkedIn does the same thing).Worse yet, if I post a comment on a youtube video, the comment gets automatically referenced and linked on my G+ account as part of my recent activity (if anyone knows a way to disable this option, please tell me. I spent days trying to figure it out). So now these people that I am linked to their "circles" (whatever the fark that is), can go to my G+ page and see what videos I watch and post. That's farking creepy.I don't want my personal life and my professional life to intersect like that. There is a clear demarcation in my life between what I do professionally for clients and businesses, and whatever goofy shiat I do in my own free time.So I've stopped posting Youtube comments entirely out of fear and I'm probably going to shut down everything google if this doesn't get any better. This all-in-one inclusive bullshiat is not how we want to conduct our lives online, and it floors me that Google is too stupid to understand that.
Unobtanium: I have avoided G+ every time they asked me to join. The most frustrating part (and on a scale of 1-to-10, it's about a 0.11) is that they want me to use G+ to comment/review Android apps.
HotIgneous Intruder: The only purpose Google+ serves is to establish another presence on the internet for people who feel it enhances their professional credibility."Yeah, I'm on there."Idiots.
