Darwins Point-ed Stick: Lsherm: log_jammin: Lsherm: log_jammin: I don't know if I want to watch that video...

It's just the crash and the immediate evacuation, but the crash looks pretty mild.  It's what other pilots would call "ditching" in water.  It looks like everyone got out, so I'm assuming the lady that died couldn't handle the "floating in the ocean for six hours" since it took that long to get to them.

Or, conspiracy.

maybe I'll risk it.

I just have a thing about refusing to watch videos that show people getting hurt or killed.

There's none of that in the video.  Actually, for how terrifying it had to be (been in a plane crash and a spelunking accident myself) - it was remarkably calm.  It's worth a watch if only to see what happened, there's nothing gross or traumatic in the video.  It's just extraordinary that you'd get video of the event happening.  Like when the dude landed that plane in the Hudson.

A plane crash AND a spelunking accident? Is your nickname Lucky? ;-)

I grew up in the 60's and 70's.  We cared not for safety in those days, young padawan ;)

The plane crash was landing gear in a small plane (could have been a Cessna, I was 8 so I don't remember that well) that broke on landing so we bounced for a bit and then tipped on our side.  It didn't last very long, but it was terrifying.  The cave trip was actually for a high school class over the summer, you got some kind of geology credit for it.  And I take full credit for my accident, the guide was telling us "make sure you step over this hole" and I wasn't listening, so I walked right into it.  We were probably 2000 yards from the exit, too.

While in the water, Puentes took a picture of himself with his bright-yellow life preserver nestled closely around his neck.

One of the passengers managed to swim ashore while the others waited it out until the rescuers finally arrived.

Spectators take photos, doers swim the rest of the way home after the plane crash.

Why not? It's the complete opposite of what you see in films and tv.

Actually looks amazingly boring. So boring in fact I would have taken my smokes out and chilled. I certainly wouldn't have asked the lady next to me if she wanted to fark or shouted to everyone on board that I'm gay.
