I give mad props to what he did in the 1980s - Three Amigos and Funny Farm (yes) were a couple of favorites growing up, and Christmas Vacation is a classic.

But I have zero faith in Chevy's taste level now, and not just because he didn't "get" Community. 2/3rds of the films he appeared in after 1989 I've never heard of. Between his insane ego and not seeming to know what's "hip" in comedy anymore, I have low expectations. I can see him crafting away at home after leaving Community: "I'll show those dumb kids what FUNNY is..."

And then there's the mystery of how a professional actor lets himself get so pudgy and old looking - we're all aging, but it's like he wants people to know by his physical appearance that he no longer gives a fark.

Movies were good  (the initial one and Christmas Vacation, at least).

A TV show would suck.

Not every movie translates well into a TV show, and verse vica.
