Australian guy here. Let me translate for you seppos.

The new trend that encourages friends to skol a beer, film it, then dob in their friends has swept social media in the past week.

The latest fad on social media is to film yourself, chug a whole beer in one go and at the end of the video nominate a friend to do the same thing.

if you don't do it, a drop bear will come and eat you in your sleep.

The "nek" part of neknominate comes from the meme "nek minnit". Google it for further info.

rnatalie: Try ordering coffee sometime there. Even Starbucks uses the goofy aussie names for things. Flat white? What the fark is that.

It's a no-foam latte. A white coffee that is flat. Also, a macchiato is not a twenty ounce drink with syrup in it.

mediocretaur: so the Australians figured out how to chug a beer?

Oh we've got it figured.

In 1955 Bob Hawke downed 2 and a half imperial pints in a record 11 seconds. He later became prime minister.

6 years later a law student in Queensland broke the record by downing 2.6 imperial pints in 7.9 seconds.

In 1989 David boon (cricketer) drank a record 52 cans of beer on a flight to London.

Stopped reading after 'craze continues to sweep social media'. Whatever it is, it's dumb. Perhaps 2.7 Harlem Shake units of dumb.
