Isn't there a whole "Captain goes down with his ship" thing that comes into play here?

This is a Russian repost of a video from 8 months ago.

February 6th 1991 - VIA #41 for Toronto rounded a curve at 93 mph (posted limit 95 mph) about a mile east of the interchange at Smiths Falls East (Ont), on the CN Smith Falls Sub, with a CP Camspur/Petawawa local working too far out on CN track they didn't have a clearance for.

Even that video is a repost of something from LiveLeak.  Wanna play find the 'O'?

Here's an  article about it, from back in April 2013.  It mentions a YouTube user "Newstime 1025" posting it in March 2013, but I can't find anybody with a quick search.

could have been really bad - both the Aclo's and the LRC are super cool.

VIA's line between Ottawa and Smiths Falls is good for 100 mph, so I don't think it's a typo. Canadian railways still go by miles.

/I miss the LRCs

Well, probably just for that equipment. Regular passenger and freight would likely have significantly lower limits.

I was waiting for the train to derail and land on his head, but fortunately that didn't happen this time.
