OK, we have a chance to come up with a logo with a dinosaur on it & you just make it a letter? Just a T on a shield? Come on, guys. -1 for Toronto

+1 for Brooklyn. That's an improvement.

Interesting.

When will we see what soccer logos would look like if they werent drawn 200 years ago onto rough wood by a retarded peasant with a dull adze?

Denver would put

Do Not F*cking Care as their logo? Bold choice.

2014-01-10 12:32:50 AM
Also, seems like they really started mailing it in quickly on those.

Hell, Denver was the last even sorta-decent looking one.

/also, just use BC instead of FC since they are basketball clubs.

2014-01-10 12:43:56 AM
Portland was the best because he at least tried to incorporate the original "PB" logo.

Right? I thought that was strange. We already have an FC Dallas.

Yeah, it worked when it was NFL teams because, well, they're football teams. How do you not make that adjustment?

Especially when you're doing dumb things like having lions in the Bobcats' logo.

Hey, a lot of unemployed graphic designers put a lot of misplaced effort into these fantasy sports logos for you, chum.

Why is the Wizards' logo a football?

It is somehow, tangentially, barely-at-all related to a Toronto sports team. It must therefore be mediocre at best, because that's how we do sports here.

These things always have a couple of good ideas, and then a whole bunch of filler just to make sure every team gets one.

2014-01-10 02:51:12 AM
I think the artist did "basketball teams needy new football teams" rather than "basketball teams get football logos", which would have been far better (and ditching the confusing FC crap).

They also should have been more consistent with championship stars. Why do the Celtics have three stars? Three title eras? It's not one star per five or something as they have 17. And you KNOW the Lakers would have their stars on there. As it was, they only used them in teams with a small number of titles (and just a few at that).

2014-01-10 03:15:38 AM
The one for the Charlotte Bobcats should have, well, a bobcat.

And a crown.  Charlotte is named after a queen.

What does a lion have to do with the Lakers?

Also, they missed an opportunity for a sailing ship logo for the Clippers.

This shiat again?  Is this what bored or underemployed graphic artists do with their time?

2014-01-10 06:57:07 AM
So Philadelphia gets Stoke City, Chicago gets Torino FC, Brooklyn gets Juventus, and they all become football clubs.

2014-01-10 07:04:27 AM
Why haven't we seen the reverse-NFL/NBA versions of EPL logos? West Ham with Thor swinging a hammer, a rooster on steroids for Tottenham, Rambo with about 16 guns on him for Arsenal...

2014-01-10 07:41:42 AM
I'd buy the Memphis one.

2014-01-10 08:15:23 AM
God, those were awful. The "hawk" was the silhouette of a petrol, the "bobcat" was a lion, and as has already been mentioned, "FC"? Really pathetic.

2014-01-10 08:31:26 AM
None of those were hugely impressive. I did kind of like the Orlando one for the simplicity but it didn't really say soccer badge to me. Maybe because it wasn't an English style crest, as those are my first association when it comes to soccer.

2014-01-10 08:33:06 AM
It says "FC" because they're turning basketball logos into soccer logos, so the basketball teams become 'Football Clubs'

Really not that complicated people.

Some of them are ok, but there's no need to just randomly throw lions onto logos.

2014-01-10 08:36:45 AM
Why did they make Phoenix a lion acting like a Phoenix instead of the real Phoenix logo they use around the city?

The Celtics one is awful.

2014-01-10 08:42:24 AM
Ok I looked at Phoenix again and it isn't a Lion.  It reminded me of a lion at first glance.

Soccer is a stupid sport and has stupid logos

2014-01-10 09:45:52 AM
Some of them are fun but a lot are really derivative of existing clubs (Brooklyn = Juventus, Bulls = Torino, Sixers = Stoke City etc).

2014-01-10 09:49:19 AM
I dare say the Bucks logo doesn't look like the current one which feels like somebody playing with a two color design in MS Paint.

2014-01-10 10:28:09 AM
The converted NFL logos posted here a while back were actually really good. These are pretty bad.  I'd rather seen 'basketball logos converted to soccer logos done is MS Paint.'

DrBear: Why haven't we seen the reverse-NFL/NBA versions of EPL logos? West Ham with Thor swinging a hammer, a rooster on steroids for Tottenham, Rambo with about 16 guns on him for Arsenal...

Because that would actually involve artistic effort rather than just spending a few minutes in Illustrator.

2014-01-10 10:49:01 AM
Now let's see if they make a MLB and a NHL one anytime soon.

2014-01-10 11:17:35 AM
Wow, they really shiat the bed with Minnesota and New Orleans. Because nothing says Timberwolves and Pelicans like trees and Fleur de lis.

Primitive Screwhead: The Celtics one is awful.

It is.  And the comment about the stars is dead on too.

As for the rest, and taking the FC crap out of play, Denver, Cleveland, Portland and Memphis are pretty good, with Milwaukee being almost in that category.  But almost half of them go in the "bland boring crap" category.

\also, slightly aside of this, I seriously doubt there is any way to come up with a good, well-fit logo for the Wizards...or the Caps & Nats for that matter.

Yeah, the Lakers already have their stars out already. I think the Lakers logo and the Cloverleaf are Eurosnob ready now.

I see they figure they're not going to have to worry about painting another one on there anytime soon.

I work in Toronto and I see the Raptors were given about as much consideration and effort as they deserved for their last decade or so of performance.

How can you have a Celtics logo with no Shamrocks? I mean, you throw three stars on it for no reason whatsoever. Why not make those three shamrocks?
