12 minutes?  Good God, that was interesting enough for maybe 2.  Editing is your friend.

/Skip to 3:46 for the big reveal of the theory.

NobleHam: Rarely has a joke been so over-analyzed.

I've seen several of the videos from this series. It can be interesting on what is mentioned...but some are hit or miss.

The one on Mario being mental is a good one.

Did they do the Majora's Mask one where POSSIBLE SPOILER: Link is actually dead and he's just going through stages of grief? That was a pretty good one too, and makes a lot of sense overall.

Really, his #1 reason is that they call the achievement fratricide?  Did he miss the part where they play up an attachment to an inanimate object for shiats and giggles?

Okay, I made it through just under 3 minutes of that disaster of a video. Does it get any better later?

I never realized how much of a total psychopath Mario is.  Beyond the whole stomping on every living thing he comes across or burning it with fire that is.

No. No it doesn't.

1. That video was the most overproduced gamer fanwank thing I've seen in the past 4 months.

2. Am I the only person in the world who was only mildly entertained by Portal and didn't really think about it again after I beat the game in a few hours? I get none of the warm fuzzy feelings some people seem to have about this game. It's just Castles of Doctor Creep with a twist... And GlaDOS actually annoys the shiat out of me enough for me to never want to play it again, let alone play a sequel chock-full of fan service.

3. Dude, you aren't going to get picked up by G4 or whatever the hell is on cable these days. You suck. Stop it. It's not cute.

I am over 40 years old and have been playing computer games since 1987.  Portal was the first game in 20 years that made me feel the wonder and excitement like when I first saw the cover of Ultima IV or unpacked my Nintendo (8-bit) and saw Mario in all his glory on my little 12" TV screen.  It is supernatural and you are the Devil for not feeling that way.

Is it just me or has the Fark Video tab got awesomer and awesomer in the last few months years?

I have to agree with this one.

It was the first game that, since I was a kid, I would be in bed at night (after getting stuck on a puzzle) and say "Wait, what if I did X to get to Y?!" and then quietly sneak downstairs to play it, making sure I didn't wake my parents...uh, I mean wife and kids

Maybe it's because I started with Portal 2 (last month) but I have to agree. It's cute and funny but not really challenging or worth playing again unless I totally missed something

I've never played Portal but have always liked puzzle games and it looks like fun.

I think the first reference to Portal that I came across was this;

Which I thought was very well done.

Yay. There are two of us!

I didn't say it was bad... I just don't get the deep love for it. I really don't get why it is so meme-worthy. "The cake is a lie" -- Okay, fine... So what? How is that funny or cute? How is that interesting outside of the context of the game?

I played the first one, and haven't bothered with the sequel because I get the gist of it: I shoot portals, I solve puzzles, the computer says dryly witty things, I try not to die.

But I feel the same way about the non-sailing parts of Assassin's Creed IV. I enjoy the pirating and sailing, but I'm quite sick of the parkour in that series.

I'm old school, too. Over 40. My first console was PONG, followed by an Atari 2600 and Odyssey2... I can still enjoy a game of Galaga or Mr. Do!, but I can't imagine ever going back to play Portal again.

Portal was awesome.
Portal 2 was utter shiat: look for the conspicuous patch of white wall, shoot portal, rinse, repeat, win.

Nope, he's right. Also, Valve needs to get off their fat asses and get with Half-Life 3 already
