You want the ball?

Deer hooves are used for fighting. That deer is trying to kill that dog.

-I know someone who was disemboweled by one.

/not convinced that the deer is "playing".

I know!  That dog is playing.  The deer wants to get the fark out of the yard, but there's a much bigger human standing at one end of the yard and a fence at the other.

I'll await the Follow-up, when state officials storm to the place to euthanize the deer.

I've never met a Lab that wasn't obsessed with balls.

Notice the two cats on the far right, sitting on the porch, probaly thinking, "whadda couple a douchenozzles."

That wasn't exactly relaxing. The dog wanted to play, the deer did not.

That deer was playing. That fence wouldn't be any problem for the deer to jump over and not once did the deer raise its tail in alarm.

Dog is playing. Deer sees a farking predator and is trying to fend it off.

AbiNormal: That deer was playing. That fence wouldn't be any problem for the deer to jump over and not once did the deer raise its tail in alarm.

Not always, and it obviously thought it could handle the situation.

This deer was obviously pissy, but not once did it raise its tail to expose the underside.

/not a deer biologist

this. the deer thinks the dog is a predator. and he is the prey. probably just confused why he is still alive.

My first thought too.

Dog--"Whee! This is fun!"
Deer--"I WILL END YOU."

Not really smart for the owner to let the dog "play" like that. It's going to go up to some other deer like that and get its head kicked in.

OUR DOG BUDDY WRESTLES AND PLAYS BALL WITH OUR BABY WHITE TAIL DEER
My brother found this deer alone and malnourished when it was a tiny baby. My family bottle fed the baby, named Theen until he was eating grass. Several months later he's very socialized with people, our black lab, and our cats. He is free to wander if he likes and we've seen him with several herds of whitetail and axis deer. Apparently he fits in just fine with them. He frequently comes back to the house to eat some catfood and play with our dog, Buddy. He doesn't care much for deer corn.

yeah, even a deer that size could do damage to the dog if it got a solid shot to the dog's head. Not a good idea

If my grandkids say "totes adorbs" or anything equally idiotic, I have already warned them that I will slap them upside the head.

Yeah, get off my lawn, NOW.

Deer are the dicks of the forest...  I hope "Buddy" wises up and give that little jerk his due justice... Of course it will probably be after "Buddy" recovers from Lymes disease....

Deer are just tall rats.  Hope this little bastard meets his end
