dragonchild: One thing unanimously established so far in Hoke's young tenure as Michigan's HC is this:  every player, former player and coach who's worked for Hoke likes working for him.  The coordinators at Michigan are not in anyone's shadow, and Hoke puts a lot of trust in them (probably too much in Borges' case).  Greg Mattison, in particular, has as impressive a resume as any DC in football, but he went back to Michigan specifically to work for Hoke.

It's pretty clear Hoke doesn't do much if any meddling on offense, at least on game day, other than making the calls to go for it on 4th down (and then the OC makes the call), so for an OC who wants that freedom, it's a good gig.  Hell, Hoke would have had to tell someone else to tell Borges something since Borges was up in the coaches box and Hoke doesn't wear a headset.  Hoke is a defense guy at heart, especially line play (and being a line guy, it's not surprising he loves the pro-style and power stuff, but Nuss runs a lot more zone running, so this should be interesting; if nothing else, Michigan's line couldn't block for shiat on power stuff last year anyway so it's not like they're switching from a strength)

Rent Party: And in reality, the agent didn't really give the money to Reggie, he gave it to Reggie's dad.

The NCAA was so full of shiat on that one I'm surprised they didn't drown in it.

The whole thing was that the NCAA was buttmad that Carroll was friends with movie stars and brought them into practices and they felt it was an unfair recruiting advantage. Even eligibility officials from other schools admitted as much.
