\\ Stupid cat was probably crapping on her property because the stupid owner can't keep the useless thing on their property where it belongs. Do you know what happens if I let my dogs roan the neighborhood? Same should go for those disease bags...

Now, not for one second am I going with snow kicking as abuse.  However, from the actual article linked in this thread up yonder....

The woman submitted the video of the attack to Fox 2 News in Detroit and it is now making the rounds around the web. It happened at her Melvin home, which is about an hour east of Flint.
The attack was caught on tape by the woman's security camera. As the woman kicks snow at the cat to keep it away from her dog, it lunges and begins scratching and biting her face. According to   Fox 2 News, the woman had to be hospitalized after the cat bit her forehead and she contracted cellulitis, and infection caused by bacteria.

The woman took in the cat she called Buddy over the summer. After the attack Sanilac County officials picked Buddy up to test him for rabies. To do so the cat had to be put down. Those tests came back negative.

So, if it was off leash it was her own damn fault.  The dog was behind a fence on the porch, so how was it in danger across the driveway?

Woman was a right biatch and got what was coming to her.

The cat got the short end of the stick.

Yeah, what a twat.

Skunkwolf: No, the cat's owner not being able to prove that the cat was vaccinated resulted in it's death.

If you want to prevent people from casually killing your pets using authority when they misbehave. License, tag and vaccinate.

Except that SHE "took in" the cat. It says so right there in the article. Once she did that, SHE was the new owner, so yeah, she's responsible, as is the owner, since they are one and the same.

that whole thing wasn't that funny.

Even with knowledge of the lipstick thread, your headline didn't make sense. The sentence structure was off. Are you saying the cat made the lady kiss it's ass? That didn't happen.

Not in the literal sense but that cat damn sure did make that lady kiss its ass.

You're using the "kiss my ass" term incorrectly. I'm not aware of many people saying "I'm going to make you kiss my ass". When you tell someone to kiss your ass, it ususally involves no physical interaction. It's a "fark you, fark off". The lady had her ass KICKED. The cat KICKED ass. No kissing. Your headline sucked bro and apparently the mods made that an official ruling. I've used up the number of times I can type "ass" today so good day to you sir.

1. The lady deserved to have her ass kicked, and I hope she continues to suffer from the cat's attack. You don't kick snow on a cat. You don't kick in a cat's general direction. You just don't. Any cat owner knows this. The animal will feel threatened and defend itself.

2. It sucks that the cat was put down. I think, given a choice, they should have put the lady down and let the dog and cat live in her house.

3. A better headline would have been, "Woman takes Nugent lyrics too literally"

4. No, you're right: It wouldn't have been. But it's better than referencing the lipstick thread from ages ago.

lack of warmth: The question I have is was this her cat or a cat she didn't want around her house?  If it is her cat, she deserved it.  If she was trying to deter a cat from hanging around her house, I understand.  She failed, but I understand.  You got to go stronger than that, or get scratched.

1) Yes it was her cat
2) I agree with your if/then.  I tried to stick up for her when I incorrectly assumed it wasn't her cat.  It was, and she's an idiot.

I still wouldn't call it "abuse" like some farkers did, but she treated the cat wrong and deserved what she got.  I'm not a cat expert, but repeatedly attempting to drive the cat across the street like that is a vary bad idea.  Stand between the cat and the dog.  Push the cat back if it comes forward, but don't move towards it.  You're (supposed to be) in a position of authority.  You need to let the cat know that there's a boundry, and that the boundary is right around the dog.

To test it for rabies.

You can quarantine it for 10 days for observation.

They did that to a feral that attacked my wife in our garage while it was protecting one of her kittens.  They'd gotten in the garage somehow.  Luckily she had on some thick leather garden gloves at the time and it only got her hand, but still chewed through the glove and scratched up her arm.

The thing also tried to attack a four year old prior to attacking my wife, but an adult got in between the cat and kid before any damage could be done.

And after all that, some of our neighbors went to the animal impound and paid to have it spayed, got it it's shots, and then released it back into our neighborhood.

Amazingly, since the spaying, it actually tolerates people now.

The cat was almost certainly a feral. From TFA: The woman took in the cat she called Buddy over the summer.

He was probably abandoned by his original owners, who didn't care what happened to him, and showed up at her house looking for food.  We've had cats like this near us. My wife puts food out for them. Some will warm up to us and become friendly enough that they can be adopted out. Others become friendlier, but are still a little stand-offish or skittish, like this one appears to be.

So you're correct to blame the a--hole owners, but I'd also blame this woman as well. If she was going to "take in" this cat, part of her responsibility was to make sure he was vaccinated.

If the coonthammer didn't abuse the animal to the point it had to defend itself, it's vaccination status would never have been an issue.

She still committed animal cruelty which ultimately resulted in the death of the animal.   That's the legal standard for felony animal abuse in most states.
