I'm not a fan of him personally--his food interpretations get old, but he's done alot for my cooking by showcasing many, MANY great ideas from various places in the states.
Try his Huli Huli chicken....it's absolutely KILLER. My whole family loves it and devours it when I cook it. You seriously can't eat enough. (Use extra pineapple juice in the sauce tho...)

Thanks, Guy--really appreciate it!

Is Guy Fieri just a chef in a horrifying costume like Christopher Kimball from America's Test Kitchen?

Horrifying costume, yes.  Chef, no.

I just checked his bio on Wikipedia -- apparently he's been nothing except a restaurant MANAGER his entire career.

Perfectly respectable, of course, and quite the successful TV personality and restaurateur.  But a chef?

Of course I don't know WHAT Kimball is, except tremendously canny and cutthroat in business.
