They have Hobbits in Minnesooota?

2014-01-09 12:57:24 PM
Speaking of Bemidji, Minn., it is a real city, which they'll almost certainly draw from a bit like they did with Brainerd in the film.

My first year of college was just outside of Bemidji. One of Paul Bunyan's many homes, in fact, the A&W there had a Bunyan Burger which sounds really unappetizing.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this, because it seems to have a good cast: Freeman, Billy Bob Thornton, Glenn Howerton (Dennis from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") , Bob Odenkirk, among others.  And the Coen Bros are involved, though I'm not sure to what degree (they're listed as executive producers).  So we'll see.  Yah, could be a good one.

"Do We Still Love Martin Freeman?" Wasn't really aware until the linked article that Freeman has made some really racy comments in the past. But what's even more surprising is that all of the editors interviewed for the article have only know him from things he's done after "The Office". Really, I think The Office is one of his best roles.

Still didn't realize that he seems like a dick in real life.

I don't think anyone with a sense of humor and half a brain thinks he is being literal here. Gawd, people are getting so thin skinned, humorless, self righteous, uptight, and prissy. FunkOut: Martin Freeman is a horrible unloveable person?

He's apparently "one of the nicest people in the world" or something, but doesn't put up with bullshiat. I don't think many top actors leap to the defence of lowly circuit-grind interviewers they're going to see for all of four minutes when their producer is berating them for fidgeting.

What he does have is a very dry, black sense of humour.  Some people interpret that as dickery, or deliberately (I think) interpret him as being serious when he says stuff like "I've always wanted to be a dictator" or that he only watches his own films because everyone else sucks.

American interviewers appear to be quite taken aback because he doesn't just mouth the stupid platitudes they're used to actors spewing.

/As the internet says, he's made of "kittens and rage"
