Unless she ate it, sounds about right to me. And no you vapid, twit... You won't need therapy

Green Giant has their next marketing campaign all laid out "Guaranteed Vegetarian".

2014-01-09 07:10:46 AM
Even if she had ate it. The store did not make or package the product. Why should they compensate for more than the cost of the product? What does subby think she should get a life altering some of money from Publix over a bird head?

2014-01-09 07:11:19 AM
What should they give her, subby? A million dollars? If you buy a product and there's something wrong with it, you take it back and get another one. Get over it.

It's better that finding a bird brain in your spinach.

That seems reasonable to me.

In the morning,
Laughing happy bird heads,
In the evening,
Garnishing the salad!

Bird heads, bird heads,
Rolly-polly bird heads,
Bird heads, bird heads,
Eat them up, yum!

Little canary in the outlet by the lightswitch

There's a little bird head in your spinach

Wait, what does her marriage issues have to do with this?

A smarter move for the business owner would be to at least give her an in-store gift certificate for $50 or $100.  Sure, it's not the store owner's fault -- nor should he admit any fault -- but the gift would help counteract the negative conditioning against shopping at his store that the customer experienced as a result of this incident.  It would be in the store owner's own best interest to do a little more than just refund the cost of the salad.

I've heard of "Bird's Eye" brand vegetables, but this is ridiculous.

A little bird head? Get over it lady.

Now, a baby head...

2014-01-09 07:23:27 AM
I'd be like "Hey, free bird skull! Cool!"

I didn't take away that Subby was actually complaining about it. But, that's me.

And, yes, this is all she should receive. I hate the 'free lunch' culture we've grown accustomed to. Not everything deserves a lawsuit.

2014-01-09 07:27:42 AM
Even if it came out of a public brand box it's not like a store manager could do more than give a refund. If she wants more she needs to get in touch with Publix corporate office.

Little birdie, why do you fly upside-down?
It's amazing at the way you get around.
Little birdie, why you worry like you do?
Don't you worry, you just do what you can do.

Little birdie, things just fascinate you so.
And your friend there likes to show you what he knows.
Little birdie, he don't mind the way he should.
He needs watching, that's when you know that he'll be good.

Little birdie, can't your friend do nothin' right?
It seems now all he wants to do is fight.
Little birdie, look at what he's trying to do.
It's so easy, yet he don't know what to do.

Peter von Nostrand: Unless she ate it, sounds about right to me. And no you vapid, twit... You won't need therapy

It looks like she is laying the ground for the law suit. It is possible that she may actually need therapy, but that should be funded by the family and community that sheltered her from life when she was growing up, and set her up to be traumatized by something this trivial.

2014-01-09 07:40:56 AM
If she didn't eat it, she can have the same product again, at no cost. If the supermarket wants to save face, they could offer a higher amount. But that's it. It's a bit of a shame that trollsubby seems to think it is natural and appropriate and that it goes without thinking, that it should be any other way.

I assumed that was just melodramatic overacting on her part, in preperation for her upcoming big-money lawsuit, where she claims she needs several million dollars for her extensive therapy sessions to get over the PTSD and flashbacks of decapitated birds every time someone mentions Popeye...

But, yeah, if she's really that delicate, she would've killed herself years ago, I'd think... She obviously must never have owned an outdoor cat, at least... Severed bird heads would be the least of the horrors she'd have witnessed!

I thought that everybody like a little head.

It would be hilarious if they gave her a replacement bag of spinach, and she opened it up to find the rest of the bird's body in that bag...

There is no alternative to Publix, they have assimilated all competition. Unless you consider Walmart, but that is just not an option.

fark her, trollmitter, she shouldn't get shiat but a refund. I am sure some attorney will file a retarded lawsuit over this shortly though.

Even then. It's just a skull. Extra calcium.

I know, it's so disgusting.  Reminds me of the time I found a bird leg in a bag of frozen chicken I got from Walmart.  I wish I had had the presence of mind to take it back for a refund or sue, but instead I was so traumatized that all I could do was to throw the bag away.

I'd say she should be given the refund + something for the trouble of having to return it ($10 gift certificate should do it). However that should never have made the news.

2014-01-09 08:46:54 AM
I bet she ate that with chicken too.

I want to know where the bird was manufactured.

Well, no.  It should be funded by public single-payer healthcare, available to every citizen as a right.

Since this is apparently a lyrics thread:

If I had the wings of a sparrow
If I had the ass of a crow
I'd fly over Publix tomorrow
And leave my skull in the spinach below

Skull in, skull in, skull in the spinach below-ow-ow
Skull in, skull in, skull in the spinach below
