Nah, probably more of a "schluuuuuuuurp-boioioioing"...

McCarthy left the house and later returned, wearing lingerie with a silver handgun lodged in her vagina. She proceeded to have "inner course" with the gun, asking her boyfriend "Who is crazy, you or me?"

Indeed.  Who's the crazy one now?

borg: He's a hack and The Road sucked.

I don't know about the book, but that movie was the most depressing farking thing I've ever watched... So much so that what I think was intended to be a somewhat "happy" ending could only be viewed by me with complete suspicion and dread... (That family is totally going to rape, kill, and eat that kid! Not sure if it'll be in that order, though...)

You've never had oral sex until you've nearly been smothered by the V.

I would really like to know specifically what gun she was...ahem... packing.

I have a North American Small Arms .22 revolver that's the smallest gun I've ever fired, and I can't imagine a woman being able to tote it around vaginally.

susansto-helit: borg: Cormac McCarthy's "Pulitzer" was more of a "he'll be dead soon" we better give it to him award. He's a hack and The Road sucked.

/everybody's a critic

If there were any justice, Judge Holden would be within inches of doing something horrible to you and leaving you in an outhouse even as you were typing this.

Nevertheless, borg is correct. The Road is a steaming pile. It is without question the worst thing I've ever read, and I make a living reading freshman composition essays. I don't care how good McCarthy's other books might be - I'll never read another word he's written thanks to that offense to literature and the English language.

She probably didn't have it in her vagina. She probably just had it tucked into her (tight) underwear. But Farkers just have to see "vagina" and anything common-sense goes right out the window.

Try reading No Country For Old Men sometime. It's also a steaming pile, longer than The Road and just as uplifting.

I'll never understand how these two books got such accolades.

Agreed! Not sure which is my favorite, Suttree or Blood Meridian. I hated The Road too but its no reason to hate everything he wrote.   Also, try Daniel Woodrell if you like McCarthy, I find a similar flavour in his writing. He wrote Winters Bone.

Better toss a quarter to make sure.
