I got a Lack table as a printer stand.

11/20. I've been in an IKEA once and I'm not well acquainted with death metal.

akula: 11/20. I've been in an IKEA once and I'm not well acquainted with death metal.

All you need is to understand Swedish... No need for a knowledge of IKEA or death metal.

Oh boo...when I got this green'd months ago, I only got the FarkUs black hole instead of both the Geek and the Entertainment tab. That almost counts for two, subby

I got 8 of 20 and my wife got 12 of 20.
Either she really knows her death metal bands, or she is an Ikea pro that I didn't know about.

no... it's like gaelic.... the only people that speak it are 90+yrs old or very young hipsters who think it's cool to know.

loonatic112358: does anyone actually understand swedish?

Not even the Swedish understand Swedish. That's why they all speak English.

/very practical people
//they built their entire country with just an Allen wrench

my wife got 9 of 20 and I didn't take the test... I wasn't sure if I would be more disturbed by knowing too many or not enough... besides... everyone knows the only true Doom metal is Saint Vitus.

Got 9 and had to guess at all of them. After hearing some Liquid Metal on Sirius I am not at all embarrassed not knowing who these bands are.

/actually listened to Liquid Metal for 30 minutes on my last road trip before realizing it wasn't the same song playing
//some sounded neat really loud, though
///almost crashed laughing

16 here. Like ikea, don't mind Swedish death metal.

// just because I recognized two IKEA product names, otherwise, it was pure guesswork.

Actually, that was my downfall... I  do understand Swedish (well...Norwegian. Close enough), so when I saw a word I understood, I assumed it would be the IKEA thing. Nope.

/13 out of 20.

I got 'Kvlt' for 15/20. I ducked a couple the wrong way though.

16 out of 20, and I was at an IKEA about a week ago. I think that puts me at a high C?

2014-01-08 09:08:01 PM
15/20, just by guessing. There were two death metal bands whose names I somehow managed to recognize, probably pulled from memory of reading back issues of Decibel Magazine. The rest was complete chance.

/TRUE KVLT according to the site
//I've never been to Ikea

12/20. I've broken up w/ too many women over fights started in an IKEA.

2014-01-08 09:11:30 PM
9. 9. And I'm at Ikea for work ALOT. And I actually like metal, I just don't have the energy to devote farking graduate level farking research to map out my favorite sub-sub-sub-sub genre so I can spend endless hours cramming every band on the planet into tiny tiny niches. Damn you Carl Linnaeus!

2014-01-08 09:25:01 PM
17/20. My memory was a  bit spotty, but generally if I didn't recognize the name I assumed it was Ikea (and the Norwegian black metal band with an English name that they included early on threw me, until I realized I should have expected that...).

2014-01-08 09:27:49 PM
13/20.  A couple of the Ikea ones I have in my apt, the rest I guessed.

You should listen to the Alan Cox show.  Ikea Or Death is a regular call-in game.

It is on rotation with Cheese Or Font and (the perennial favorite) Drunk Or Kid, where you have to guess if a dumb thing someone did was while drunk or a kid.

Only about 5 of them could have been both, and 2 of them was Norwegian words... But I guess knowing that IKEA likes names of places helps. Take out those and the non-Swedish words, and there`s not many left.

Never been to IKEA. Don't listen to metal.

19/20.  What's funny is that I'm an avid metalhead and listen to a lot of Black Metal and also own a few of the furniture in the quiz so it was pretty easy for me

/damn you Bastig

I only got about 5 of them right.  I've been to IKEA once and don't know jack shiat about death metal.

Guess I'm not as hip as I used to be.  Do the kids still say hip?

Yeah, Craft?  That threw me off, to - I got 14/20, and I'm pretty up on extreme metal.  Don't know shiat about IKEA...

Me too. 15/20. I haven't listened to black metal in years though. And I certainly don't have pictures of euronymous over my bed like results suggested though lol.

Yeah, Craft got me (it's pretty generic, so I figured it could be furniture), and Bastig (it should be a band name, dammit), and Nortt (never heard of that guy before).

2014-01-09 03:15:20 AM
11/20, pretty much by luck.  Never set foot in an Ikea store, and I prefer my metal to be symphonic, gothic, power, or classic.

One that I missed was a band named after warriors in Odin's hall, so I think I'd heard mention of them on a Manowar album.
