The thing is... even with the letter...even if I take Christie at his word, several of the staffers who he hand-selected engaged in petty political retribution that may well have cost some constituents their lives (by way of nearly quadrupling 911 response times)... that doesn't really make me feel comfortable with his ability to pick a secretary of defense or state.

Nina_Hartley's_Ass: Psychohazard: Bridgegate.  Nope.
Gate Bridge.  Almost.
Golden bridge-gate.  Never mind.

Bridge Over Troubled Water-gate.

FuturePastNow: Throwing is aides under the bus is really his only possible option here. He may even be telling the truth about not knowing what they were up to. This ultimately won't hurt him unless further evidence shows that to be untrue.

There is no way he didn't know. You don't pull shiat like this without getting a go ahead from the boss man. Proving it is another matter. But it just takes one person not falling on his sword, and there are a lot of people with their hands dirty with this.

2014-01-08 08:47:46 PM
And if you believe that, he's got a bridge to sell you.

"The aides responsible for this would testify in court, but they're all on a trip to Belize."

I still think he would be better than the last two POS POTUS we had and have.

These emails kill me.

People, people, PEOPLE!.  If you're going to use political office for corrupt purposes, use the TELEPHONE.  Or better yet, meet them in person in some discrete location like the NJ Museum of Fine Art.  Never leave a paper trail!

He's one of the few appetizing republicans. It's no surprise a scandal would break.

2014-01-08 08:52:07 PM
I hope they're offered immunity for cooperation and throw him under the bus in return.

/might need a lift kit for the bus

The issue is not stupidity, it's ARROGANCE.  "None of this applies to me because I'm bulletproof."

President Christie gets insulted by Saudi Arabia.

Christie: "Uh, yeah, I think Saudi Arabia is going to have a 'parking problem' if you catch my drift."
Pentagon: "Glass parking lot, sir?"
Christie: "Shh, don't be so literal in emails."

Imagine for a few seconds . . . . . If Hillary would get voted in to the office, all the women would want to look and dress JUST like her. I guess it would be good for clothing and make up manufacturers.

Isolated incident.  Overzealous staffer(s).

I wonder if he has bridge gap? If it's good enough, maybe it could save his career.

Christie's farked.

He's been exposed, yet again, for the petty, vindictive asshole he is.

'Course, those traits are admired by Republicans, so...

When Democratic women get mentioned, the faithful always have to immediately criticize their looks.  Because women of course don't have any substance.

From an article a few months ago:

'Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney decided he could not pick Gov. Chris Christie as his running mate last year in part because the governor's background was "littered with potential land mines," according to a new book.'

----

This is only the first domino. There will be a very public investigation. There will be very public law suits. And then more stories like this will come out. Sit back and enjoy the Weiner-esque career implosion.

Chris Christie bikini bridge?

If you have never heard what a man sounds like when her is ordering some pants...  You can take a listen here.

Lets see Chris Christie try something like that...

Good lord, that was so bad that nobody even wanted to laugh at him anymore. It was just embarrassing.

2014-01-08 08:59:50 PM
Weaksauce. He needs to invite the Justice Department to do a full scan of his entire staff to determine how far the rot goes, and have each and every one of them thrown in jail. Anything less, and I have to assume he's guilty as hell and should be shot on sight.

2014-01-08 08:59:57 PM
It's not even what they did that bothers me. It's how poorly they did it. This is New farking Jersey, people. You're playing in the corruption big leagues and you're using motherfarking E-MAIL?! With your ACTUAL farkING NAMES attached?! You're blocking traffic for a bullshiat traffic study and you didn't even farking bother to make one up?!

Jesus Christ. It's must be a massive set of balls behind this, because anyone dumb enough to think it would actually work would have forgotten how to breathe years ago.

2014-01-08 09:00:57 PM
He's playing an attention whore, he wants to run for president against hillary so even bad press is good to get his name recognized.

2014-01-08 09:01:10 PM

Benevolent Misanthrope: Yeah, yeah, yeah.  Politician makes prepared political statement about rogue staffers.  We shall see what the staffers have to say when offered a chance to turn Christie over.

Turn Christie over? I hope his staffers have been working out.

No, no. I think it's completely plausible that Christie didn't know about his staff's intentions. Or their actions. Or the investigation. Or the subpoenas. Or the emails that had to be turned over as a result of the subpoenas.

I think that this is an unforgivable stunt, and that if he was involved, he is unfit for the office of governor, and should be booted.

That said, enough with the fat jokes already - they just damage a lot of good arguments about why he is a shiat.

C'mon, you know the first primary debate will have to have some truly insane candidates to balance out the ones who are just idiots.

Mrs. Todd Palin
Ted Nugent
Basil Marceux.com
Phil Robertson
