How exactly does WND plan on spinning Hillary Clinton as the most powerful dictator-president ever while simultaneously Barack Obama is the shadow president?

Obama is going to hang around D.C. for the gay parties, a C.N.N. show and like Sharpton and Farakhan just generally be there to keep the racial animosity pot simmering. Knock Out games, etc. have to keep going so Obama can lead the race war. He's an extreme narcissist who is run by a Globalist Mafia. He isn't going to be dissuaded by a little thing like the end of his term. He has visions of Mandela (his hero) and "Necklacing", like he did, lighting diesel fuel in tires put over peoples' waists. Obama and his "supporters" have "great things" in mind for him and he isn't done yet. We're just getting warmed up with this guy who calls himself "Obama".

Yeah, came here to say this.

Also, assuming Obama had it in mind to keep some shadowy and nefarious grip on power after leaving office, why would he have to stay in DC to do it? Surely there is a middle ground between (A) stay in DC or (B) self-exile to an off-the-grid cabin in the wilds of Idaho.

Well, Chicago or Hawaii mebbee. Or maybe until the kids finish school, and THEN he'll retreat to his underground Time Bunker to foil the dreams and aspirations of the GOP for untold generations. Maybe he'll finally be able to power up his Chronogyro to kill Lincoln and frame that actor guy, like he's always dreamed of. You know, right before he drops of Jaime Foxx to actually pull off the plot of Django Unchained, but for reals, and eliminate the legacy of the first born President Who Has Never Been since he's ALREADY killed off President Scudder's entire line, but now must fulfill the prophesy...

You may not recall the heady days of the late 1990's, when Clinton ruled over America with an iron fist made of unmarked black helicopters.  The right wing had his ascension to dictator-for-life all mapped out, he would use UN peacekeeper troops to quell the rebellion and run the camps - they would use all the markers on the backs of highway signs to know where to oppress, or something.

The way I understand it, they can still serve in those positions, but they'd just be passed over for eligibility should the freak scenario occur that would necessitate elevating the position to the Presidency.

Otherwise, every Cabinet member would also need to be eligible for the Presidency, and that's obviously false.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that former presidents generally go back to regular jobs once they are done being president. Their job from that point forward is pretty much being a former president, and you can do that just about anywhere. Sounds like a pretty sweet gig, actually. Draw a nice pension, give the occasional speech, maybe do a little consulting. It's good work, if you can get it.

Watching the Rifftrax of ROTJ the other day, I noticed something:
Why are the most "wretched" places in the SW universe always playing happy music? (Or maybe Tattooine is just that kind of planet?)

In the Mos Eisley cantina it was klezmer/jazz and Jabba's palace it was a pop star (and NOBODY better mention CGI Great Aunt Petunia's honky-tonk-inspired number). So they'll take your money and kill you, to the sounds of REM's Shiny Happy People?

// HEYHEYHEY - pull this bus over to the side of the Pretentiousness Turnpike, OK?

i was thinking just the other day it'd be cool if he ran for Senate or House or even Governor of some state after being done with the Presidency. it has been a long time since an Ex-President has done such a thing.

John Quincy Adams in the House
Andrew Johnson in the Senate

being a Supreme Court justice like Taft would be pretty hilariously awesome too. heads would explode on that one.

no one has done a Governor yet... and won anyway.

Will President Obama be treated as if he's still running America even after his term expires?
The answer is a guaranteed yes, according to Rush Limbaugh, the nation's most-listened-to radio broadcaster.

doublesecretprobation: Obama is going to hang around D.C. for the gay parties, a C.N.N. show and like Sharpton and Farakhan just generally be there to keep the racial animosity pot simmering. We're just getting warmed up with this guy who calls himself "Obama".

also...

Taft was 64yo when he was Chief Justice.
Adams was 76yo when he went to the House.
Johnson was 67yo when he went to the Senate (for like 4 months and then died).

Obama will be 57yo when he is done with the Presidency. so plenty young enough to do something like that. if he wanted to.

It's too bad Roberts is so young.  The nirvana scenario would be to have the chief justice spot open up and have Hillary appoint him as chief justice.  I think the gnashing and wailing of the right would cause the earth to come off its axis, but I would relish in the glory of it right up until we hit the sun..

How else can he destory the USA and usher in SHIRA law as the new Muslum nation. That's the end game people.
Step one: get elected and get the economy to start to recover.
Step two: improve international relations
Step three: try to improve the healthcare system.
Step four: SHIRA LAW

It's funny on so many levels, not the least of which apparently even Obama haters agree he's improved the economy and international relations.

Jebus Cripes, I finally RTFA. They're worried about Obama staying in DC because of an interview with Baba Wawa (linked in TFA):

In an interview this week with Barbara Walters of ABC News, Obama and the first lady, Michelle, said they may live in Washington beyond their time in the White House to allow their younger daughter, Sasha, to graduate from Sidwell Friends School.

[snip]

"We gotta make sure that she's doing well .?.?. until she goes off to college," Obama told Walters, according to an advance transcript of the interview, which aired Friday night. "Sasha will have a big say in where we are."

Good god, are these people paranoid...

Based on what my ex told me about the judge and her trial specifically, I agree.

// opposing counsel apparently tried to strongarm the judge into finding things their way in one of the early hearings
// BAD MOVE - the Judge spent lots of time specifically calling out the behavior in her decision

Yeah I was really surprised that the multinational conglomerates (Big Oil, Big Pharma, etc), the military and espionage industrial complex, and mega-wealthy aristocracy that directly benefited from Bush-era policy would give up power so easily. Oh God did I lose lots of hours thanks to that game.

I also learned a lot about geography and that a president can have a huge approval rating if he just strengthens economic ties with all the other countries in our... whatever they called the global alliances in that game.
Oh, and don't bother stopping Iraq from invading Kuwait.

Once the kids are off to college, Barack and Michelle will go back to Chicago (they own a house there, but not one in Hawaii) and I would bet money that Barack will go back to teaching at U Chicago.  Probably a very special course in the law school, something you really have to fight to get into.  He'll do that for a while the new president gets settled in and weigh his options.

I could see him going back to the Senate; I could see him taking an appointment to the Supreme Court or to the Cabinet.  He'll write a couple books and he has to decide where to build his library (which traditionally also become a former president's office); I suspect it will also be in Chicago.

It should be obvious what Obama is going to do when his term is over... he is going to partner with Donald Trump and travel the country solving crimes. NBC will buy the rights to make their adventures into a reality show. The running gag will be each episode ending with Trump screwing something up to which Obama will say "Donald, you're fired!"... freeze frame of Obama laughing and Trump looking frustrated while canned laughter brings in the credits rolling in over the screen.

/The holiday special of their trip to Kenya to solve the mystery of a fire at a government documents warehouse will be a ratings win for NBC

Thanks. I wondered if anyone would get that. For those who are unaware, in a Westminister parliament, the Loyal Opposition normally forms a shadow government. It's simply a way of delegating responsibility for opposition to the Cabinet.
