And I felt bad the first time my toddler parroted a four-letter word.

Ok well I felt bad because I know she'll never be able to cuss as well as her momma.

Well, that Kindergarten teacher wouldn't give me an extra milk, dammit. Steve wasn't in class that day so I know she had an extra. Biatch was probably cribbing the extra milks and selling it on the street.

Shoulda cut her, but, you know, all I had was safety scissors.

cgraves67: And to think I was scandalized when my two year old ran around the house yelling "Damned Dog!" over and over.

My daughter was 3 when I first heard her swear.  We had taken her to the drag races and were parked about 3/4 way down the track next to the rail when the time came to run the Top Fuel cars.  When those things came blasting by she clapped her hands over the hearing protection she already had on and yelled "Son ova Biatch!"

I suppose I should have disciplined her, but I was just so proud that she had used it in perfect context...

I was so disappointed the first time I heard my friend's daughter call someone a "n*gga".....because I was the only white person in the room and I figured I shouldn't laugh about it.

/oddly enough now that the little girl has grown up, she despises that word and lectures anyone who uses it
//of course, her parents aren't thugs but the kid picked up on EVERYTHING she heard on TV/movies/music
///I learned that too well when my own kid figured out that a particular Cee-Lo Green song is not to be played on my phone and he offered to skip the track for me

My 3 year old recently opened the front door, looked at me calmly and stated "Fark you."

Before I could recover, he again opened the door and stated "Fark you".

I went inside and washed his mamma's mouth out with soap.

Same when parents let toddlers and babies walk around buck naked at the beach.  Come on, man.....your kid might be tempted to use the sand as a litter box.

My niece, at all of age 8, was visiting family. She stopped at her great-aunt's* house for a sleepover, then popped over to our house to visit. While visiting, she commented that it was 'damned hot' outside.

Her mother (my 2nd-eldest sister) looked floored, but my mother asked "What does 'damned hot' mean?"

"Oh, it means 'really, really, really hot'. Great-Aunt told me."

Another sister (4th eldest) turned white as a sheet, and her husband left the room immediately. It was his mother who had taught her that phrase.

To this day, the easiest way to make him squirm is to comment how damned hot it is.

*it's a huge family. Mom had five siblings, Dad has 11, and once you tie all the threads together? Well, you get great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces who are actually related three generations prior, cousins who don't share a drop of blood, etc. We don't get picky about categories.

That's because some ignorant people have trouble separating the concept of an entire race and individuals which happen to make up the vast majority of that race.

Some people, some of the time, like to not wear clothes.

Toddlers are just tiny people.
Treat them like they aren't at your own risk.

/ which includes giving them positive reinforcement for "cute" behavior.

I dunno ... on the one hand, I kind of agree with the police. They (and teachers) deal with the kids raised by parents who think that children talking "gangsta" (and acting gangsta) is funny. So maybe an illustration of where that shiat comes from and where kids get it (ie, their parents, not TV or music) is informative.

OTOH, it's one group of idiots on the intertubes. It doesn't represent all black families, so maybe implying that it represents them is not a great idea.

This is how uneducated, lower class families talk and ensure their next generation remains just as "oppressed" and "kept from success" as they were.  Some of you know this already.  Nothing to see here.

The black community is all about people recognizing the black community and doing things specifically for the black community.   I didn't segregate them, they did...    But I would have to also say that thug culture is a bigger problem in the black community than most others...

The school bus is where the vulgarity teaching takes place these days.

The sooner adults quit reacting to it, the faster the kids stop using profanity.  Especially if the parents comment on the childishness of profanity versus the maturity of proper language skills.

For them to take a video out of context -- a 2-year-old who doesn't have the brain capacity to know what's going on -- and to say that this child, because two adults acted inappropriately, is going to end up in a life of crime is totally inappropriate," Hamilton said.

Ummmmm, no.  That two year old has a brain capacity far exceeding his brain-dead, thug parents/guardians who filmed that stupid shiat!  So yeah, its highly likely that 2 year old thug is going to be voted most likely to be incarcerated in 10 to 11 years.

Or you spank the ever living hell out of the kid and instill the fear of God in them. That works every time. I talked back exactly one time. The next time I was entering that territory, it became apparent what was going to happen next, so I stopped. Ignoring the kids who use profanity won't stop it anymore than telling them how childish profanity is. You can't have that type of conversation until the "kid" is near adult-hood.
