Unused footage from a Tool video is what it looks like to me.

Loved a lot of it.  The ending was too existential for my taste.

Synopsis (w/ spoilers):
In the future, humans create clones to do their work for them, but the clones rebel and live underground, and the humans send an explorer (protagonist, I guess) to get some valuable DNA from them or something. The explorer gets blown up and is resurrected as a robot by a group of friendly mutants. They go on some adventures until the explorer remembers who he is and why he is there. He leaves the mutants to capture and get a creature with the special DNA but soon finds that his new body isn't up for the task. He "dies" again, and the film ends with the explorer contemplating who he is.

Dammit, I set the font to white for the spoilers, previewed it (looked fine), but it was posted as black text.  Sorry about that

Better than anything Hollywood has churned out recently.

That was well made for solo amateur work. He'll probably get a nice job offer.

I've seen far worse things and ideas get funded.

My initial thought too, until it was stated that the story is to  be continued.

Watched it twice now. It's so much better when you're stoned.

"In the distant future,

mankind attains longevity through gene manipulation.

However, in exchange, the ability to reproduce is lost."
