The idea that pharmaceutical companies should have steady, predictable income (to deal with steady, predictable regulatory work) is part of why we can't control U.S. healthcare costs.

It's really expensive to make R&D on the most complicated system ever - the human body - predictable.

As it looks to get back on track, Lilly emphasized efforts to advance its drug pipeline. The company said it has 13 potential new medicines in Phase III testing or submission stage and another 26 in Phase II.

This is a good plan.  Just keep sending us work and all will be well.  Please don't forget discovery and tox, they need the love this year.  Oh, keep that Elanco stuff coming too, thankyouverymuch.  We'll keep on doing the good work for ya.
