i'm guessing that drudge is well-insured. i mean, when you're at the ER every other weekend to remove a string of lost anal beads or what have you.... you're gonna need insurance,

Drudge is a loud mouth, even he knows it. Nothing he says should be taken seriously.

Anytime someone posts anything from Drudge on social media, that's an immediate unfollow.

Does Obamacare cover butthurt? Because he's gonna probably want that.

2014-01-07 03:03:18 PM
So let me get this right. The government partially pays hospitals for care given to those who can't afford it, and that money comes from my taxes. At least that's how it's been explained to me. Now this guy is flat out refusing to contribute his cut? Is he on food stamps as well?

2014-01-07 03:32:35 PM
You can't "opt out" of the ACA.  Sure, you can pay the fine and refuse insurance coverage - it's asinine, but you can do it.  However, you're still actively and passively benefiting from the ACA (which is about so much more than insurance that reducing it to the one most visible thing is ridiculous).

2014-01-07 03:54:58 PM
Perhaps he has enough bank that insurance isn't one of his problems.

On the other hand, he seems like something of a jackass, so who knows?

Oh, Drudge is still alive?  I thought his site went down when AngleFire servers were taken off-line.

2014-01-07 04:28:26 PM
So is there a thread a day at least where some jackass makes some jackass statement about Obamacare only to be rebuffed in the very headline? I'm starting to miss the Duck Dynasty threads.

Neddy doesnt believe in insurance, he considers it to be a form of gambling.

Wait, proclaiming that you're opting out of things you don't need are newsworthy now?

I'm opting out of eating that Kraft American Single I dropped on the floor. I have the rest of the package left, and I think I'm allergic to hairy cheese.

Bye guys, I'll be waiting for TPM to come calling.

I doubt that anyone doesn't have insurance just because they are rich, the only ones I can see going without health insurance are people who think they are people who think they are immortal(examples young people and wackadoodles who think if they eat right they will not get sick) or people who think they are/want to be rugged individualists.

Why would a rich person want to spend their money on healthcare when they can spend my money on it.

So Ezra has nothing better to do than troll people he follows on twitter that will never respond to him?

I guess he's got time on his hands since he got canned by WaPo

I'd like to say that picture is unflattering and unfair, but it's exactly how I see him in my mind.

Gig103: Next you're going to say that the Civil War wasn't exclusively about slavery. SINGLE BULLET POINTS ONLY, PLEASE

Uh. It kind of was? At least, the reason for *secession* was slavery, though the reason the north went to war was to preserve the union.

I know you learn in High School it was about "State's rights" and "Economic differences", but if you dig a little deeper still (And read the articles of secession), you start to see that those state's rights revolve around the right to own slaves (While at the same time biatching that other states are exercising THEIR rights, i.e. not complying with the Fugitive Slave Act), and the economic issues revolve around, well, slavery.

That's a very interesting way to describe their parting of the way.

(And "interesting" is a funny way to spell "biased and inaccurate".)

It probably does; I'm guessing that a reason Republicans are so adamantly against it.  They'd have to admit that they're butthurt.

Sadly, nope.  After Fox News, he's probably the single biggest news source for Republican voters.

2014-01-07 05:09:04 PM
sorry Matt, it's either Obamacare or deathpanels.

I don't know who you've been conversing with but your options and choices were revoked when Obama and his progressive socialist muslins nazi's usurped power back in late '08.

every real american knows this.

A federal judge noted in the judgment that Drudge "is not a reporter, a journalist, or a newsgatherer. He is, as he admits himself, simply a purveyor of gossip."[11]

Of course, prior to Obamacare, that wouldn't have been covered: preexisting condition.

It comes down to this, essentially:

The Confederate States of America's constitution was an almost exact carbon copy of the USA Constitution. Except that it explicitly granted states the right to maintain the institution of Slavery, and it explicitly outlawed any and all attempts to abolish slavery.

In the constitution. The one change they made was to make it illegal to abolish slavery.

Yeah. Anyone who says it was about anything other than slavery is delusional or misinformed.

Can he just opt out of being an American? I don't wish pain or suffering on the guy, but for all the talk of America being #1, it sure seems like Drudge is willing to knock us down below...whom, exactly? Someone that doesn't have a national health or insurance service, surely...over a plan less costly than Medicare D and less destructive than a bombing campaign.

I love the "Monopoly money" of conservatives.

Dear conservatives who pretend US dollars don't actually have value:
GIVE ME ALL YOUR "MONOPOLY" MONEY!

Wait, no takers? Then SHUT THE fark UP! because you don't believe the BS coming out of your own mouth.

If he's paying the tax, he's opting out.

If he's buying qualifying insurance, he's not opting out and will not have to pay the tax.

2014-01-07 05:26:48 PM
Hoe could he opt out? That last few years the Republicans told me that the government was "FORCING" you to buy into Obamacare.

You mean that was a BS lie?

2014-01-07 05:27:13 PM
I used to have free employer provided insurance coverage.  But I'm opting out of it and am going insured HAHA I SHOWED YOU SUCKBAMA
