Comedy albums can count as bombs too.  That probably adds up to more than 48.

My rule of thumb: If you're getting away with something illegal, don't double down.

Adam Sandler produced films:

Lifetime Gross Total (30): $2,474,308,559
Average: $82,476,952

Submitter's headline: $0

My guesses:
a) He was going to blow up the armory mentioned in the Madison Press article
b) He was "exercising his 2nd Amendment rights", ie Doomsday prepper
c) He was planning on fighting a killer cyborg from the future

Not sure I understand the headline. Sandler can certainly be accused of making a lot of really bad movies, but they rarely bomb.

I think the Amusing part was the thought that there was anything worth blowing up in Ohio.

LowbrowDeluxe: I think the Amusing part was the thought that there was anything worth blowing up in Ohio.

He was driving westbound, likely to a target in Indiana apparently. According to this:

Boguslawski works in Indiana at a training facility for Navy Seals, Adkins said. The prosecutor said Boguslawski had schematics and other plans for buildings that are part of that training facility. Adkins said the man was driving west toward Indiana at the time of the arrest.

There's a naval base in Crane, Indiana which is an hour plus southwest of Indianapolis. I don't think Seals train there. I interviewed for a job there, and they described it as an engineering type of base. There's an armory in Indianapolis, but that building isn't large enough to train in for anything the Seals would likely be doing.

2014-01-07 03:06:59 PM
The prosecutor said the trooper was prompted to ask about weapons because of several bumper stickers on Boguslawski's car -specifically a sticker warning:

BigSnatch: What's a "48 bombs in his car" and how do the police use it?

The headline language was ambiguous. What is meant is that 48 bombs were located in the driver's car, and somehow the police used those 48 bombs to stop the driver.

If the police hadn't stopped him in Ohio, I'm sure the NSA would have gotten this guy before he did anything bad.  This is the kind of thing their spying stops, right?

He wouldn't have been speeding and getting caught. They're smarter than that. This guy made the mistake of thinking Ohio cops are as lenient as Indiana cops.

Is there a worst headline of the year contest? We certainly have an early frontrunner here. Amazingly, the headline manages to be even less funny than the "bombs" it makes fun of in non-sequitur fashion, as far as I can tell.

He was mad because he went back to Ohio but his city was gone. Or it would be in about 47 bombs or so.

According to the state trooper who stopped him for going 85 mph in a 70-mph zone, Boguslawski said he had no weapons. However, the officer returned with a ticket and saw the handle of a gun between the man's knees.

If this is true, then whatever Boguslawski was up to, was in his mind, worth shooting a cop over.
He had plenty of time during the stop to stick the gun under the seat or somewhere out of sight.

2014-01-07 03:54:05 PM
But he is responsible, right?

NutWrench: If this is true, then whatever Boguslawski was up to, was in his mind, worth shooting a cop over.

It sounds as though he only "prepared" the gun for use when the cop was returning to hand him the ticket. Had he kept the gun hidden he would have received a ticket and been sent on his way, at least that is how I read it.

So, not only was the guy dumb (or preoccupied) enough to be running 85+ in a 70 zone while going to commit his crime, he still couldn't stay cool enough to take the ticket and continue on his "mission."

It's a good thing a lot of the so-called "terrorists" are terrible planners and have terrible execution. Even with the NSA reading all of our email and listening to all of our phone calls these people still get caught through their own mistakes.

There is nothing illegal about transporting 2 pistols and 2 rifles in your vehicle, unless you are in Chicago or New York City.

Yes, he is responsible, and the police are now holding him accountable.
