(UTV (Ireland))   If you're accused of a drunken case of air rage on a jetliner over the Atlantic, where better to have your trial than in an Irish pub? (pics)   (u.tv) divider line 20

Best place to find a jury of your peers, I imagine.

Well, you'll certainly get a jury of your peers....

What?  Barcelona to NY and she gets tried in Ireland?

And they don't speak English in Ireland - okay, well that's not news.

I guess Gerard Finneran has passed from the annals of the Intratubes. Can't find a pic of him.

The flight diverted to Shannon because of her inebriated exploits.

It seems a lot of people get super loaded leaving Barcelona heading home.  I guess if you got a stash of drugs and don't want to flush it down the toilet or risk smuggling it just take it all right before you board the plane... what could go wrong?

Indeed and many people do exactly that.  I may have consumed all the drugs in my possession before crossing an international border at some point in my life.  You know what I definitely didn't do?  I didn't cause a ruckus on an airplane (or a train or a bus or anywhere else).

She must have access to health care.  If your drug (including alcohol) use causes international flights to be diverted and you to be arrested, you might have a problem.

Sounds like the perfect storm of obnoxiousness, drunkenness and self entitlement. And asking the charges be read in English when they were was the perfect way to endear herself to the court.

Public House, which would serve all town functions in smaller towns and villages, does have a history of this kind of thing, so dont feel to bad.
