RZA's book The Tao of Wu was, while being completely one sided and self complimentary, an interesting look into the group and how much of a clusterfark it ended up being.  I hope he's able to wrangle them into producing something good one last time but I'd bet any tour would just fall apart.

I was in a band with 3 other guys for 10 years-ish without any real success and it was a clusterfark. I couldn't imagine being in a group as large as theirs and having the success they've had. I'm not surprised they have trouble wrangling themselves into productivity. It's one thing when you're all a bunch of teens/early 20-somethings and you're full of energy and don't have much better to do. Trying to do it as a grown-up has got to be virtually impossible.

I watched their show at Bonnaroo this past year.  It was pretty good.  I think RZA was drunk.  He seemed like he wasn't having as good of a time as everyone else, and was ready for it to be over.

Will they be swinging through my town like the neighborhood spiderman?

They would schlepp their way through a show back in the day, solo or with the group. I'm guessing this will be even worse. It will be the epitome of half-assed artistic effort. Most of the show will be, "ah yeahh check check it," and "put ya hands in the air." The whole thing be filler bullsh*t and barely-rehearsed rhymes.

I hope I'm completely wrong.

I do not support groups that use the phrase "They more you give us, the more we give you" during a concert.

fark off and perform your "9 inch long schlong" off.

Looking forward to Gza's Dark Matter album that should be coming out this year. It's the one about the cosmos he researched with Neil deGrasse Tyson and others about.

I've head the same thing about Eminem's concerts back in the day; he would barely be on stage for half of it.

Ghostface and Methodman do everything.  The rest half ass their verses and stand around.

Cream, Get the money, Dollar Dollar Bill yo.

I've seen them like 5 times now. It's obvious the chemistry is gone and most of them don't get along. I will say Ghostface, and Method Man (especially him) perform with a ton of energy.

So what will be new? That is the way it has always been, except for OBD also performed well when he was alive. They were one of those bands that were great on album but not so good live. I guess it would be hard to be good live with that many people.

Nothing is new but dont say "the more you give us the more we give you" because we both know that is bullshiat.

IMO most rap concerts are like this.  Saw the Up In Smoke Tour in 2000 or whenever and, while it was awesome to see these guys together, the overall sound and performance was pretty brutal.  Except for Snoop.  He must have a super special mic to do his inside-voice-rhymes and have it come through so well.

Disclaimer:  the whole arena was hotboxed so I only remember the first half.  It's entirely possible someone shizzled my dizzle.

Never saw WuTang live.  The one time I had tickets to a show with WuTang and Rage Against the Machine, the Wu canceled and was replaced by The Roots.  They sounded good because instruments.

Live rap is better in smaller indoor venues.

/I just hope they give us one last banger of an album

FTA: We are owed another truly great Wu-Tang album

You ain't owed jack-shiat, Guardian writer.

If that were true I would be owed

--a great ELP album to make up for Love Beach and all the 90's dreck, including one of the worst albums ever made by anyone ever, In The Hot Seat
--a great Yes album to make up for everything post-Relayer
--another Smiths album
--for Pete DeFreitas to come back from the dead so that Echo & The Bunnymen can make a great album again

etc.

No Dirt McGirt, no reunion.

Unless they pull a Tupac, and we get a Big Baby Jesus hologram.

And they must have arcade machines featuring Def Jam Vendetta throughout the venue.

I love Wu Tang but I wish they'd waited another year. They played Coachella almost simultaneously with Wu and killed it but nobody noticed because Wu Tang got all the attention,

Everyone likes Wu Tang. And as Ghostface once said "it's like round 3, we too black for BET".

The check must have cleared before they hit the stage.
