This clearly means global warming is a hoax, and Sara Palin is automatically President.

I just took the trash out a while ago and it's 2° with a wind chill of -17, so now I know what that feels like. Allegedly we're hitting 0° by dawn. This is in Asheville.

It's so cold, brass monkeys are moving to Australia.

It's so cold, people are huddling in freezers to stay warm

It's so cold, cops are tasering themselves

It's so cold, *insert Hillary Clinton joke here*

Oh darn. I don't normally so this but... That means I have to stay in the basement playing games, fapping and eating Mt. Dew Cheetos all day.

The news is hilarious trying to fear monger

NBC10 has a reporter out in Philly and to prove how cold it is he showed that the condensation dripping off the exhaust of the news van was freezing on the ground. He proceeded to day the exhaust was freezing..

Was -31 with the windchill last night here in the Kansas City suburbs. That was..interesting. I'll be driving out to the farm in a couple days. Which should be even more interesting.

It will be 35-37°  in Chicago on Friday and I bet i will see someone wearing a hoodie or windbreaker as a coat.

I commute by bike in Connecticut. 10 degrees (right now) is the coldest workday temp so far this winter. I usually just get on the bike and go. This morning I took the trash out. That was a mistake.

Somebody should tell zookeepers about evolution, natural selection, and survival of the fittest. If a polar bear freezes, it's terrible at being a polar bear and should not be allowed to reproduce.

I wish some of this cold would extend to the coasts. I'd love for a bit of snowfall. Not a lot, just a foot or two.

The polar bear keepers didn't feed it the seals that allow polar bears in the wild to grow an extra layer of fat.

Spin the bears around fast enough and you might create a 'polar vortex'

You don't know that. You just suspect it, based on admittedly compelling evidence. Still, it's just a suspicion. Even if you work for the NSA, I'm covered.

Something pushes the weather way over the north pole to you guys. For Europeans, it has the opposite effect: it pulls all the warm weather upwards from the south. In my area, the Netherlands, it is more than ten degrees Celcius *warmer* than normal. It's downright spring-time outside where I'm sitting.

Serves you right for living on a large continent. Live on a small island with warm ocean currents surrounding it, you'll be golden.

I live where you do and the family farm is north of Columbia. Several busted pipes out there. Probably some dead chickens, too. They don't build up that layer of fat from eating seals.

We're having our beautiful winter weather of highs in the 60s and lows in the 50s and plenty of people are walking around in boots, overcoats, woolen hats, and mufflers.

I think these are the same people who feel that black spandex is appropriate clothing in August when it's 95 degrees out and 80 percent humidity.

Come to think of it, maybe I should call my parents and make sure mom isn't frozen face down in the chicken coop. What if she grabbed something metal and got stuck to it. Hey, at least we can ice skate on the ponds this year!

Never been out in sub-zero wind chills before. Feels like -13 at the moment, but I'm too sick to go outside. So...yay? I guess.

Did we? Summer '13 was pretty good, Summer '12 not so good. We've got heavy rain and floods along the south at the moment, but at least its warm rain and warm floods.

On second thought, the Adopt-a-Cuddly-Polar-Bear program, open to all season pass holders, was probably not a good idea.  More on the carnage following this brief weather update...

Okay, that was at 2:30 a.m. I noted that elsewhere and heard from some asshole er, dear friend in San Diego that it was 72°. Bastard. Anyway, now at 6:45 a.m., it's -1°F and the wind chill is -23. I've been in single digits a few times, but this is my first experience with a negative number. Dang.

QPgh here. Regular temp is -9, with wind chill -30.

It's so cold I'm starting a playlist to keep warm:

Fire - The Ohio Player
Fire - Jimi Hendrix
Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
White Heat Red Hot - Judas Priest
Drop It Like It's Hot - Snoop
Hot in Here - Nelly
Canned Heat - Jamiroquai
Hot For Teacher - Van Halen
Sunny Afternoon - The Kinks
Happiness is a Warm Gun - The Beatles (the meaning of that title/song will have a special appeal to you basement farkers. And I say that with love ;-)

That might mean something to the rest of us if we knew where Asheville was. Since you're a full 15-20 degrees warmer than where I am in Michigan, I'm guessing you're much further south, like in the Carolinas?
