Let me guess no one that goes by the name Bubbles is anywhere near sane or STD free? Yes I really have known of one or two of them.

caution: Am I the only one here that did this as a kid? I thought this was a pretty well-known winter activity.

Yeah, FTFA:  When the temperature dropped to 16 degrees in Washington, Angela Kelly got a strange idea.

No... I was going to say Tara Strong was happily married and a mother to boot, so your chances of "blowing Bubbles" tomorrow are significantly lower than the proverbial snowball in Ohio's.

How the actual fark did I live in Alaska my first 31 years and never think to try this?

The boiling water tossed in the air at -40 still wins though.

It doesn't hurt to remind people about this stuff. Lots of times it just gets lost in old memories. And nowadays with camera technology you can take cool pics and thanks to internet technology you can share them with more than just your immediate neighbors.

Not everybody has done everything in life, so get off your high horse.

Nope.  Always remember it being a news aggregator.  And I've been here longer than you.

16? That's shorts and T-shirt weather where I come from.

Oh subby means Fahrenheit, how quaint. However, that temperature scale does get -40 right, so I can't be too hard on it.

The comments from that video are priceless, as with all youtube videos. Paraphrasing my what I remember from favorite:

"You said it was -41C in the description.  Pfft, that's nothing.  If it was -41F you wouldn't be able to open the door to your house.  Nothing would work at all.  You'd have instant frostbite.  You don't know what cold is."

Not yet quite cold enough to do that here. Lotsa cloud, but no interesting "it's snowing" effect, and plenty remained liquid.

As cold as it is today (-16 here without windchill), dropping balls is not really an option. By phenomenon, the opposite occurs.

Currently 9 deg. Fahrenheit here. using homemade bubble solution it took bubbles about 20-30 seconds to freeze completely, which is a long time for bubbles to have hang time outside with wind. I managed to get one bubble on the wand to freeze, and one lucky updraft got me a second floating frozen bubble, but nothing long enough for me to photograph.

If it's as cold again tomorrow I'll have to try and get my hands on store bought solution and try again.

Someone out there must have enough gas to do this.

It's so cold you'd get the wand stuck to your bunghole. Try explaining that one in the ER.

Surely most people are wearing pants when it's -40?
