It is a drag when you get so low that you want to terminate your life.
It is preventable, seek help, there are better times ahead. Not all roses, but good times.
Life does have the lowest of lows at times but there is so much possible good.
You are not the first to feel like it is all over, trust me, you can get past it with help.

stuffy: Why do so many people who want to commit suicide feel the need to inconvenience everyone else?

You really think people who are suicidal are thinking clearly? And what is the inconvenience, that someone's train is delayed? Some attitude you have. I know I shouldn't be surprised about the lack of empathy on the internet, but still this is a kid who wanted to end her life. For some reason I couldn't care less about commuters who were inconvenienced.

SlothB77: perhaps she timed it to fail on purpose?

I was thinking the same thing. A gesture/cry out for help. Like taking a "small" overdose of Ambien. Still very dangerous with a great risk of death or brain damage. A 15 year old is not thinking rationally when she's in that state.

I'm sorry, but I laughed.

I did too.  I don't usually find this kind of thing funny, especially a suicide attempt.  However, since she meant to do worse to herself and failed, I feel we can laugh.

/now I can't shake the imagine of a clumsy teen girl bouncing off of a train.

Death by train is pretty much one of the surest ways to pull it off, and if you manage to fail at that, well... enough said.

I'm normally quite compassionate towards people who try to commit suicide...but how do you screw up killing yourself with a farking TRAIN????

That said, my heart goes out to her.  Being a teen is tough, (Got two of 'em now) and problems always seem larger than they really are.  Hope she recovers!

CreativeFarkHandle: They actually have this in some places in Japan to prevent people from committing suicide by train.  In Sapporo, it was known as the much beloved "human body accident" that would shut down half the line and would pretty always affect the main stations.

Thats what I love about NYC.

Japan: "We are most sorry toinconvenience you, but due to a human body accident, service is suspended"

NYC: "Bzzzt this is a downtown 1 running express to 14th street due to debris on the tracks  at 23rd. Watch the doors"

I hope she recovers and comes up with a better plan.

She'll get better and then see a therapist...

"I tried to kill myself because I was sad."

"What made you sad?"

"I became upset when I got a paper trying to write my suicide note."

Yep... pretty much how it goes.  :P

I like your visitor number comment in your profile. Well done.

Train suicide is not quick or pleasant.

You might get popped like a balloon in the guts, sure, but even then you will get cheesegrated along the rails as the train's conductor continues applying the brakes. You're then tossed like garbage to lay among the waste water and rat turds as you bleed out from a million tears and compound fractures contemplating what a mistake it all was. You don't die quickly.

Ugh. I read an absolutely farking horrible account of a guy who was pushed onto the subway tracks and a train hit him. He didn't die immediately, but it did corkscrew his body in such a way that it was not a survivable injury. The pressure of being all wedged under was the only thing keeping him from bleeding out right there. When they jacked up the train to pull him out, he would die, and all the first responders knew it.

And he was conscious. And he knew it too.

The idea of instant death I can deal with. But that...

Nightmare stuff, that.

I've never been suicidal myself, but have been close to a few people who were. It's a terrifying feeling when you are attached someone who can't see the good things in life and who even lacks any hope for the future. When it's a young kid, it's especially dreadful. My heart goes out to this girl; I hope she'll be okay.

Probably because they are saying fark you world, and inconveniencing you is something they don't give 2 sshiats about.

/Kind of like how you feel about them killing themselves.
//My God! The inconvenience, I might be an hour late tonight!

Lunchlady: I have zero sympathy for someone who kills themselves by throwing themselves in front of a train. It's the most selfish thing you can do to involve other people who will now have PTSD cleaning up your brain matter because you were too chickenshiat to just jump off the George Washington Bridge.

Yes, I laughed.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.  Hard to believe but all things do pass, George was right.

I cringe, imagining this poor young lady returning to a school where she is relentlessly bullied and the school does nothing about it, being taunted.. "I'd tell you to go kill yourself, but you can't even get that right!"

No idea if bullying was any part of her reason, of course, but ugh.

One of the few times I can't snark on Fark. She's a 15 years old and sometimes things seem worse than they are or they are actually that bad. I hope she pulls through then gets the support she needs. Sad to think that someone so young sees no other solution to their problems except for suicide.

And this is why we need to increase funding to education. So in the future kids can properly calculate when to jump to achieve their goals.
