How about people who don't use them as farking laser pointers? Can we start with that requirement and then work up to the outrageous ones?

What a total asshat. I hope by some wholly unlikely event that he loses his job, but he won't.
Thankfully, he did at least remember not to put his finger on the trigger.

As a gun owner, it's one's responsibility to abide be these rules at all time.
1. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
2. Never point the firearm at anything you're not willing to destroy.
3. Know your target and what lies beyond it.
4. Keep your finger off of the trigger until ready to fire.

You can't legislate responsibility; even to a government stooge hired by another government stooge.

1) Using a weapon in an entirely inappropriate manner, check (this is my weapon, this is my gun, this one's for fighting...)
2) Waving it around so the laser sweeps over your audience members causing extreme discomfort, check.
3) "Hauer...was disabled by a stroke a few years ago and can be unsteady." Physically unfit to carry, check.
4) "He isn't a law enforcement official." Not a LEO, just fantasizes saving the day by bolting in with guns blazing, or so frightened of getting "attacked" by the hoards of [homeless/non-white/youths], he only feels safe with his Glock tucked into his pants, check.
5) "He carries the loaded 9-millimeter Glock in a holster into state buildings, an apparent violation of state law barring state employees from bringing weapons to the workplace..." Flagrant disregard for state law CONCERNING LOADED WEAPONS, check.

This individual fails the test for being a responsible gun owner in every way, shape or form. There is no way on Shiva's Tan Earth that he should be allowed anywhere near a weapon, except on a licensed firing range, and then only when closely supervised.

If Old Man Tard tried that shiat in a room full of Army brass, that would've been all she wrote.

You can pretty much put anyone who has managed to acquire the mythical New York City handgun carry permit into a class of entitled elitist douchebags entirely separate from any other category of human beings.

Uh, no. Don't just make up nonsense and think you won't get called out for it.

As much as I detest the NRA, this old fart is no member either. He is a democratically connected fellow who thinks us little people should depend on THEM to have the guns, nobody else.

Don't know what irks me more about this. The fact that this moron is allowed to have a weapon, let alone choose to use it in this manner. Or the way all these people in responsible positions were so blatenly flipinly arrogant in their responces to questions about the incident.

Kinda funny you should mention that, since the gun grabby libs love to go on about "only trained professionals"(such as the guy pictured) having guns.

Between this, the thread with the cops who shot the teenager because they "didn't have time", the California cop that went off the deep end, the BART security guard, and the Ohio cop who shot a teenager who had been in a terrible car accident because he "didn't want to get messy", I think the LEO record on guns isn't that great right now.

So if you want to talk about disarming the American people AND the police, I might take it seriously.

Real story 1: Active duty during the Greater Southeast Asian Wargames.
Worked in a Secure Area where the President would not be allowed without escort.
A Fleet Admiral was making the rounds.
Stopped by access point and asked the Fleet Marine (3 tours in country.) about things etc.
Started to walk away. turned around and asked the Marine "Son, what would have done if I had tried to force my way in?"
To which Sgt Marine answered, "Sir, with all due respect, I would have broken your farking neck with my bare hands".
Admiral replied, "Keep up the good work, Marine".

Real story 2: While on active duty a troop that would later be in the same National Guard Military Unit with me, was standing post on a Secure Area where the President couldn't go without an escort.
Area was approached by a group of drunken junior officers.
They decide to mess with my buddy.
Ignoring the signs that specifically declare that "There will be no warnings! Deadly force is authorized! Keep out!"
Figuring that the signs did not apply to him, one of said drunk junior officers attempted to climb the security fence.
My friend shot him,
In the ass.
At the court martial for disobedience of direct orders, my friend was asked why he did not kill the officer.
He explained that shooting and killing the base commanders Son might be considered impolitic.
Took him forever to get passed Sgt.
The officer was cashiered.

What in fark does that have to do with anything? Aside from the fact that a Republican appointee would be equally as likely to have shot someone and claimed it was an "accident."

This this and this again.

Remember the poor schmuck that got shot in the face by Cheney (the model for the Ultimate Conservative)?
Guy apologized for having his face where Dick was aiming.

Color and income really isn't any issue here. It's really a matter of if you can prove a compelling reason to need it, or you are a cops friend or are connected and rich.
You can prove you handle cash? Permit.
You have friends in the precinct? Permit.
You are butt-buddys with excrement politicians? Permit.
You are filthy rich and connected? Permit.
You are an ex-cop? Permit.
Any other reason? Go fark yourself. Denied.

Why would a cop need a gun?

Because criminals have guns. Dumbass.

Which is why I need a gun and should be able to carry wherever a cop does. Cops don't f ace much danger. Their job is to come and take pictures of your bloody face after you have been beaten or murdered.
