I actually heard this bit on the radio, sometimes I put the right wing talk channel on in the car.  He's not wrong on this one.

Before he sort of hit it big, he was a very different person.  Conservative, yes, but not unreasonable or crazy.  I think the fame went to his head.  Perhaps he's getting over it now.

Either that, or, you could buy that for awhile he decided to go way wacko right, and maybe this is his attempt to drag a few people back from the edge.... you get them to all but worship you, and then start making the move back to sanity.

Insult? Perhaps not. Lie? 99.99% of the time, yes.

I suppose it shows she was being the bigger person, but didn't see anything in her comment that should have required an apology, or even caused the slightest bit of offense in a normal person.

This, just like Martin Bashir having to eat his words vis a vis his Palin comment, is bullshiat. The right wing gets away with saying genuinely hurtful and hateful things every day, and while they get called on it occasionally, nothing more ever seems to come from it.

It's time for liberals to grow some bigger balls and tell the conservative establishment to fark off when they feign outrage at innocuous comments.

Jaicu: Was she a young girl in 1990?

Stop it, there is ZERO EVIDENCE, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, that he raped and murdered a girl in 1990. I challenge you to provide the evidence that he did, in fact, rape and murder a 12 year old girl in 1990 while high on paint fumes, stuff her body in the trunk, and then put her in a dumpster behind Luigi's Pizza.

Not sure what his motivations were, but I used to listen to him many years ago when he wasn't quite as big.  Unlike the other conservative talk shows where you can tell immediately they're just shills, he seemed to be the only sincere one, and an alternative viewpoint worth hearing.  Then he got his TV show and started hocking gold and whatever else and just went downhill.  Maybe he's had a change of heart, who knows.

I used to really like it when he'd talk about his past, he was apparently a raging alcoholic and junkie and wasn't ashamed to talk about it.  Now yeah, he did use the Mormon faith to tackle that, or at least that's what he credited for it, but he seemed to really speak from the heart.

This is the second "Hey guys, let's all forgive our differences and be nice" Glenn Beck article lately.

So maybe he did rape and murder a girl in 1990, and someone has finally found the evidence.

How old is the sword? How long has it been in Mr. Beck's possession? Did he have it in to 1990? Has the sword been tested for the presence of the DNA of any and all young girls raped and killed in 1990?

I'm not making any kind of accusation; I'm simply asking questions.

He's trying to start a transition to a post-teabag talk radio landscape.  Once they blow the 2014 mid terms with constant talk in support of some insanely offensive practice, teabaggers will be toxic to everyone, not just the reality-based community.

They played a "caption this photo" game with a few comedians, and one of the photos was the Romneys with like twenty white kids and one black kid. Horrific statements include "One of these things is not like the other. One of these things does not belong." "Isn't he the most gorgeous. It's my hope that in 2040 the biggest story will be the marriage between Kieran Romney and North West." "I think this picture is great. It sums up the diversity of the RNC."

You should be ashamed of yourself. What Bashir said was so completely vile, disgusting and disrespectful and the fact that he LEFT the network and was not fired is ridiculous and embarrassing to that network. Baldwin's homophobic hateful comments are also unexcusable (or is it inexcusable?). Either way, the left wing media is FAR WORSE in attacking conservative women, families, children, etc... than vice versa. You complain about a GOP war on women, but would never, ever call out the media for horrific treatment of Bachman and Palin. But I'll wager you consider that a act of defiance worth celebrating...

I loooooooooove how you conveniently forget the fact that Alec Baldwin's show was cancelled, and his ass was fired from MSNBC.  I guess it makes for a tenuous argument otherwise.

I don't disagree that some of the comments about Palin and Bachmann are sexist (the "only a few things that come out of her vagina are retarded" meme is sexist), but that's FARK, where no one or nothing is sacred.  As public figures, with their lies, distortions, and just flat out cartoonish stupidity, they invite media scrutiny.  Hell, that's probably their goal.

Seeing to enact laws that make things worse for women is smidgen worse than any vile insult. I may call Palin a daft coont that's no longer on my "hate fark" list, but I don't want the government to exercise extra controls on them based on their gender. Complaining about the GOP's war on women and someone on TV that says something distasteful are completely separate issues.

I watched a documentary called "Evocateur" on Netflix yesterday. It's all about Morton Downey Jr, the right wing pundit who preceded Limbaugh, Hannity, Fox News, etc. His show was on from 1987-88.

Anywho I've been watching some of his episodes on Youtube, and while he was just as ignorant/mean-spirited/unhinged today's right wing derpers, I gotta say there was substantially less butthurt. Waaay less butthurt. Maybe I'm just too young to remember how it really was, but the right seemed way less self-pitying back then. I watched Chris Wallace interview Mitt Romney and couldn't believe how whiny and petty Wallace was being. Romney accepted the apology and Wallace blathered on for another five minutes saying "Well weren't you so offended about this other comment? And this other thing? And this other thing? Wasn't this so terrible?!" I could never imagine even the most leftwing of pundits spending 5 minutes of an interview with say, Al Gore, talking about how mean it was that someone made fun of him.

And it makes sense. If you're not gonna report news, it's easy to just fill the space with outrage. Still, it's pretty unbelievable seeing the lengths right wingers will go through to feel sorry for themselves. Demand an apology every time somebody says something mean about you and then never get over it.
