I'd guess relatively few. People tend to make themselves the heroes of their own stories, and cognitive dissonance is capable of rationalizing a lot of sins.

DROxINxTHExWIND: But his Dad's legendary golf game is still true though, right? Right?

totalfratmove.s3.amazonaws.com

Back in 1994, the man set a record that is likely to stand forever. Playing his first round of golf on a regulation, PGA-style, 18-hole course, Kim Jong Il scored 11 holes-in-one while he carded a stunning 38 UNDER par. Seventeen bodyguards were on hand to witness and attest the score. Regarding the 11 holes-in-one on a single round, that feat will only be repeated on putt-putt golf courses as most regulation-sized courses typically have only four holes short enough to reasonably be considered candidates for scoring an ace.

JerseyTim: It smelled like bullshiat, but I couldn't tell if it was anti-Kim Jon Un propaganda or propaganda originated from the DPRK.

I think the issue is more that something this outrageous was immediately dismissed as BS  because it seemed like something Un COULD actually do.  Kinda like all those stories that came out of iraq about Saddam having a human sized meat grinder, or Uday forcing the Iraqi national soccer team to kick a concrete ball until they broke their feet as punishment for losing a World Cup match.   In hindsight, all pure BS fed to us by the same guy who was the source for all the "Iraq has huge stockpiles of WMDS and an active nuclear program"  "Intel"   but it was   plausible given the really evil shiat Saddam    actually did

No, Kim Jong Un probably didn't feed his uncle to 120 hungry dogs

Second, consider the fact that the rest of the Chinese media have not touched this story in the almost-month since it came out.

Third, South Korea's media have also not touched the story. "This story has hardly been picked up on by Korean media which is one reason to be suspicious

Ultimately, while North Korea-watchers are certainly not buying this story, O'Carroll wouldn't take the bait when I gave him an opportunity to scold American outlets for picking it up. He asked me, rhetorically: "What are editors meant to do? Ignore a story because it 'feels' wrong, but could end up later to be true? I don't know."

Probably, hmmm...

But are we still allowed to make fun of the Chinese for reporting Onion articles as factual?

Of course!  It' always funny when satire is mistaken for real news (no matter who misunderstands what.)

There is nothing corrupt about the North Korean regime. They don't allow such things into their fine country.

Cybernetic:   Just kidding, they will only be shot.

And their families will be billed for the bullets.

/Or is that China?

China.  In North Korea, the family isn't billed for the bullet, but they are often all bundled off to the work camp as punishment for their errant family member.

Collective responsibility and all that.

Maybe he didn't have his uncle killed by dogs, but he could've done it, so it is totally believable, so the news story is still true.

/per TeaParty, Glenn Beck, WND.com, "Patriot" rules of truthiness.

Jest fattenin' up the dogs for next week's dinner.

AFAIK, regular bullets were not a good enough killing, so Un had his uncle shot with an anti-aircraft machine gun.

24 years after the death of the Emperor Augustus, the Roman world was handed over to the Emperor Caligula.
It's the nature of inherited absolute power.

doglover: neversubmit: This story has hardly been picked up on by Korean media which is one reason to be suspicious

It's also not a common story at pretty much any point in history. Execution by dog is all but unheard of historically.

On the other hand, all kinds of dumb people make up stuff based on movies. Earlier today some people were claiming Nero had his most loyal poisoner eaten by animals after having her raped by a trained giraffe. I mean, do I have to list the reasons that's obviously 99% certainly not true without any facts whatsoever?

Well, it could have happened.  OK, the trained giraffe part is a little bit off the wall.  Who trained the giraffe, a "giraffe whisperer"?  They weren't invented until the late 90's.  So it had to be an untrained giraffe, who just happened to like the ladies.  You have to be skeptical of some of the shiat you read in the history books.

The concept that a pack of ravenous dogs would have not been eaten long enough for them to be used as a form of execution.... seriously.
