No, he said there was too little focus on skill development and too much on winning and losing.  Still, good trollbait headline.

Your "best"? Losers always whine about their "best"! Winners go home and fark the prom queen.

Maybe their club teams should worry about winning and losing and the National program should worry about skill development.

One thing that the article didn't mention (along with anything that might resemble the terrible submitted headline) was how Canada keeps falling into a trap of trying to pick a "team" with certain roles that they think makes a team a winner, rather than focusing on just putting out the best players possible. Canada does this with the Olympic team too. It infests a lot of their thinking at the highest national levels, both pro and amateur. And it's failed over and over and over. Canada does best in international play when it just puts out its best people and trusts them and the coaches to make it work. eg: Yzerman as a checking center as an example of the good way of doing things, and Rob Zamuner over a zillion better players for the bad.

Also, on the subject of "Oh come ON how is this even fair", the best player in the tournament, Tuevo Teravainen, is a Chicago Blackhawks prospect.
