Merle Barwis hasn't divulged any stunning secrets about what's helped her achieve such a great age, but once suggested it's important "to keep busy and mind your own business" in life.

Truer words were never spoken.  Enjoy your beer, ma'am.

Wow. Just think about that. She was born during the Victorian era. She lived through WWI, Spanish influenza, the roaring 20's, the depression, WWII, the post-war era, the Cold War era, Vietnam, the 70's, the 80's, the rise and fall of the Soviet Union, the rise of the Internet, 9/11, and the recession.
When she was born people still had first hand knowlage of the Civil War, electricity was a novelty, and Austria-Hungery, the Ottoman Empire, the Qing dynasty, and the Russian empire were still in existence. She's older than powered flight, regular radio broadcasts, TV, movies with sound, the model T, nuclear weapons, the theory of relativity, the polio vaccine, the transistor, the Internet, the Soviet Union, and who knows what. It's actually pretty amazing that there is a human alive that lived through all of that.

Their are two famous Canadians in the news right now. One is a crooked politician who brings new meaning to the word 'dope'. He has continuously demonstrated that he is little more than a fat blowhard that goes around attacking defenseless women, completely void of morals, who should have left the office he has disgraced months ago. But enough about Ted Cruz, let's talk about Rob Ford.
