As a lifelong Padres fan who grew up listening to Jerry Coleman, I'd take him over Vin Scully every time.

This Dodgers fan loved listening to Ted and Jerry call Padres games.  Those two were a good announcing team.  The Colonel was a class act and funny as hell.  I hope his passing was easy.  My condolences.

His wikipedia page needs some updating.  This man was amazing.

Good article about his life here   http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/yankees-legend-war - hero-coleman-dies-89-article-1.1567084

I saw this last night and for some reason ended up reading about Audie Murphy.

He was 19 when he won earned of his medals.

He was all of 5'5" and 112 lbs when he enlisted.

Amazing

"(Dave) Winfield goes back to the wall, he hits his head on the wall and it rolls off! It's rolling all the way back to second base. This is a terrible thing for the Padres."
